Pasacao Beach in Camarines Sur

A. Natural Features
Camarines Sur has become of the top tourist destinations in the Philippines in the past several years. But I guess it’s not unexpected because this province offers excellent tourist attractions like the Pasacao Beach. It is a very popular beach to the landlocked residents of Naga City located in the town of Pasacao This wide stretch of sandy beach has lured visitors with its resorts, fresh ocean breeze and sapphire waters. Traveling to this beautiful beach will also bring visitors close to the other attractions in the province such as the Mt. Isarog National Park and the famous Lake Buhi.

B. Historical and Cultural Features
Pasacao was the slumbering "visita" and served as the only existing port of the Bicol Region. The Spaniards who set foot in Bicol late in 16th century noted the importance of the visita in their exploration. Pasacao's strategic location along the rugged coast of the vast expanse of the Ragay Gulf in the east made it very important to the economic and social life of the people of the region. Other important historical events that unfolded the Pasacao still left them landmark. The Pasacao Pier was the dockyard of the Japanese ships when it was bombed. Until now some of the Japanese ships can be seen under clear waters. The first place where the American landed is the Magtabid Beach in Pasacao. American air transportation first landed in Tinalmud with their Grasshoppers in 1945. The Pasacao seashore was the place where the Six Daughters of Charity (nuns) landed from Spain to establish the first normal school for girls which is now the Colegio de Sta. Isabel in Naga City. These and many other events took place in this town.

C. Tour Operations and Facilities
There are many places in Camarines Sur which travelers can explore and enjoy. They can go beach hopping in the Caramoan Islands and go to parks & farms. Pasacao is also an ideal venue for swimming. The

After getting caught under that huge wave, it was relaxation time. Brushing the sand off of my hot pink and black Victoria Secret beach towel; preparing myself to soak up the sun, I put sunscreen on and my sunglasses on, and my earphones in. with the sound of slow jams R&B playing in my ear and also hearing children playing, I began drifting off to sleep. Then, waking up to the sound of play, fun, and laughter. Children and adults screams playfully because of the cold ocean water. Before getting up from my thirty minute nap under the sun, I took a deep breathe, taking in all the fresh air around me.…

    Beach Description

Crushing violently against the slick and glimmering rocks that intermittently align the picturesque shore, the wonderfully blue velvet waves can be raucously heard from thousands of yards away. Jagged-edged and slippery, the mountains of bordering boulders act like the Great Wall of China, providing a barrier against the thrashing surf. The transparent sea seems to threaten passersby who dare to boldly venture closer, as the unfolding currents roll forward with intimidation. Reckless and consistent, the colossal whitecaps dance uncontrollably, as if they are harmoniously following to the thrashing beat of a tribal drum of a local oceanfront Hawaiian shack positioned nearby. Miles down and surrounding neighboring islands, the aggressive tide converts gradually into a calm and tranquil flow that peacefully spills onto the sand covered coastline. At these points, the flawless cerulean ocean quietly provides scarce tourists and daily natives with the pleasant opportunity to virtually complete solitude. Serene and relaxed, the flawless water eagerly invites citizens to explore its diverse marine life which it proudly maintains. The beach’s gritty sand is as warm as a fresh batch of Grandma’s homemade baked chocolate chip cookies straight out of the oven. Delicately running my bored hands through the grainy particles, I can feel the brittle fragments trapping themselves in my neatly groomed nails, inevitably getting stuck for the next couple days. Perfectly warm, the blinding sun gracefully embraces the minor island with its elegantly resounding rays while the various screechy seagulls impatiently soar past with a ravenous look in their beady eyes. Periodically a dainty and feathery cirrus cloud will appear in the otherwise spotless sky, merely enhancing the scenic atmosphere with more texture. The sky blue backdrop is deep turquoise eyes that swiftly penetrate my soul as I passionately stare into the sensual gaze of my beloved. With the bitter taste of salt…

North of Manila, the island of Luzon tempted me with some wonderful mountainous areas, volcanic landscapes and a beautiful coastline dotted with heavenly beaches. Heading up the west coast from Subic, the Zambales coast amazed me being dotted with laidback resorts, while the Hundred Islands , as they say, a favourite weekend trip from Manila, gave me an idea on what to visit this summer. As I remember, further along the coast, the province of La Union draws visitors particularly for its surfing. North of here is Ilocos Sur, known primarily for the old colonial city of Vigan, where horse-drawn carriages bounce down narrow cobblestone streets. This scenario made me go back to the ancient times. As I was able to remember, the area around the capital of Ilocos Norte province, Laoag, features a number of sites related to former dictator Ferdinand Marcos, who was born in the nearby village of Sarrat. Another spot was Palanan – the jump-off point for the barely explored Northern Sierra Madre Natural Park. For many visitors, though, the prime attraction in Northern Luzon is the mountainous inland Cordillera region. Highlights here include the mountain village of Sagada with its caves and hanging coffins, and the stunning rice terraces around Banaue and Bontoc. In the village of Kabayan in Benguet province, it’s possible to hike up to see mummies, discovered in caves in the early twentieth century. Kabayan also provides access to Mount Pulag, the highest mountain in Luzon, as I was able to remember being discussed as “Mt. Pulog”. Finally, far off the northern coast lie the scattered islands of Batanes province. For me, this region is the best in choosing destinations for a vacation.…
