United States Army Rangers are elite members of the United States Army. Rangers have served in recognized U.S. Army Ranger units or have graduated from the U.S. Army's Ranger School.[1] The term "Ranger" was first used in North America in the early 17th century; however, the first ranger company was not officially commissioned until King Philip's War (1676) and then they were used in the four French and Indian Wars. Rangers also fought in the American Revolution, the War of 1812, and the American Civil War.…

Therefore, the short time to link-up with the Sixth Army is the most important to deliver POW alive and the criterion is weighted as 1. The Self-sufficiency of the operation is vital to control the progress of the operation and to respond unexpected threats. Moreover, the Rangers and Filipino Guerrillas must employ the highest safety measure to secure the column from Japanese attacks during the operation as well. War is devastating to the soldiers fighting in it, and they react in ways that seem abstract and foreign. Tim O’Brien’s short story “The Things They Carried” details the struggles of a platoon that represents the entire U.S. Army throughout the war effort in Vietnam. O’Brien writes about of the strange tactics of the people within First Lieutant Cross’ Platoon; whether it is bad leadership, drug use or the struggles of being Native American within Vietnam. O’Brien addresses the issues that were taking place in Vietnam by using the platoon to mirror what he saw was wrong. The initial issue O’Brien saw when he went to Vietnam was awful leadership.…

The Army of the United States of America was founded 241 years ago, on 14 June 1775, with the following mission in mind: 1) Preserving the peace and security, while providing for the defense of the United States. 2) Supporting the policies of the nation. 3) Implementing the national objectives. 3) Overcoming any nations responsible for aggressive acts that imperil the peace and security of the United States. To complete this mission, the United States Army created the outline by which all Army personnel are to exemplify and abide by to ensure that all it's members live up to the higher standard in which they are held. This outline is known as the Army Values: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Personal Courage, and the most important…

    Analysis of Platoon

In the movie Platoon, the author, Oliver Stone, tells us a story about an American soldier in Vietnam during the war. The story is mostly based on his own experience when he went there. Even though the story is fictional, he keeps it really realistic and the more close possible to what was reality in Vietnam. He shows how that war was hell for the soldiers we sent there and also for the local population. Oliver Stone produced Platoon to show his disapproval of the war in Vietnam, because that war harmed the American soldiers that went there and also the population that they were supposed to protect. To deliver his political message, Stone used different elements of a movie like the structure of the plot, cinematic techniques and characters. My analysis of this movie and its political message will be focused on its characters, mainly the arc of the protagonist, Private Chris Taylor, through his interactions during different scenes with his two sergeants, Sgt. Elias and Sgt. Barnes. They both influenced him and we can figure out that Barnes represents the devil while Elias represents the Christ. During the movie, both will battle for Chris’ soul.…

Programs are reinforced by the work of needs assessments. It is essential to preform needs assessments in order to enhance the program and meet the needs of a targeted population. Conducting a needs assessment for a program will allow researchers to put in the time, effort, and resources where needed, to emphasize the programs assets. Needs assessments will provide programs with better outcomes and services to all populations (Astramovich, 2011). Needs assessments are conducted in four stages, which include identifying goals, identifying population being assessed, collect needs data assessment, and analysis and interpretation of data (Astramovich, 2011). I will provide these steps of a needs assessment below for adult military personnel who…
