WHAT IS A SITE?
 In Telecom field a site means a physical place where a telecom tower, antenna systems, BTS, Feeder cable, connector, jumper cable, Battery bank, Shelter, Diesel generator and many other equipments which are required to perform telecom operations collectively exists in one place.
HOW TO SUPPLY POWER TO A SITE?
 THERE ARE THREE WAYS OF SUPPLYING POWER TO A SITE—
 Normal power Supply
 Through Diesel Generator(DG) which provide 15kw power
 Through Battery bank which provide 24 volt or 48 volt DC supply

IDENTIFICATION OF TELECOM EQUIPMENTS THROUG SNAPS
1. TELECOM TOWER 2. SHELTER ROOM- Inside this shelter we generally installed our BTS SYSTEMS, POWER PLANT, BATTERY BANK and other telecom equipments. 3. TELECOM EQUIPMENTS INSIDE THE SHELTER OR (INDOOR EQUIPMENTS) 4. OUTDOOR EQUIPMENTS

SOME IMPORTANT TERMS:
1. ORIENTATION OF ANTENNA—In Telecom field, we assume the North direction as a base direction i.e starting point or zero degree.

* Maximum no. of sectors can be used is SIX whereas normally only THREE sectors are used.
* To set the direction of sectors, we used clock wise number system i.e, A,B and C.

2.CLATTER—It distinguish between number of users or in terms of density in a particular area like Urban Clatter, Semi-Urban Clatter & Rural Clatter.
3.ANTENNA—It is an telecom equipment which is used to provide telecom network

    The Telecom Commission, set up in April 1989, has the administrative and financial powers of the Government of India to deal with various aspects of telecommunications. The Commission and the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) are responsible, inter alia, for policy formulation, licensing, wireless spectrum management, administrative monitoring and control of the Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) engaged in telecommunication services, research and development, and standardization/validation of equipment. In addition to the Telecom Commission, other Government organisations engaged in the telecom sector (as a part of DoT) are the Centre for Development of Telematics (CDOT), the Telecom Engineering Centre (TEC) and the Wireless Planning and Coordination (WPC) wing. CDOT was established with the objective of developing a new generation of digital switching items. It has developed a wide range of switching and transmission products both for rural and urban applications. TEC is devoted to product validation and standardization for user agencies. It also provides technical and engineering support to the Telecom Commission and the field units. The WPC wing deals with the policies of spectrum management, licensing, frequency assignments, international coordination for spectrum management and administration of the Indian Wireless Telegraphy Act, 1933.
