Don't be afraid of dogs that bark or people that threaten you (say they will do something bad to you) - in both cases they rarely take action.
A barking dog seldom bites,” is of Latin origin.

I realized that the barking was not out of anger but out of fear.
Lesson: This can be true with certain people too. It is their 'insecurities' and jealousy that causes them to attack you for no reason. And if you can ignore those people for long enough, even people around them would get fed up with their constant nagging, criticism and slander.
We may be sometimes provoked to react and behave like wise but remember that the enemy is very good in sending people to provoke you. Thats one thing he is very good at.

There are various ways people vent out their anger. Some people hurls expletive words at others to vent out his anger, while some bangs things on the floor, some go wild and hurt the others, some sabotage other things and so on. These are all expressions of anger. Once the anger is blown over, he does not harm further. If the steam is not let off, it can blast. In the similar line of action, the dogs which bark are putting out their anger, fear, alarm of danger and things like that by way of barking and then they do not go farther to bite. To say it differently, for Dogs barking or biting are their way of venting out and if they choose former hardly then do they need to choose the later. This is what I conceive but if there is any tale behind this idiom then I do not know. The study of etymology has come a long way and it is very deep but very interesting. By the way where have to provide such material. When I read your question about an idiom, I pat chose to answer. Because

Thoughts, words, ideas, and attitudes can be as much a weapon as a gun or knife. Throughout time, people have been hurting each other with their explosive thoughts, painful words, and poisonous ideas. They accuse each other of things they did not do and call each other things they are not. In the tale “The Monsters are Due on Maple Street” by Rod Serling this is shown. One character says “The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout.” Once again, this can be seen throughout stories, history, and life.…

The Barking Owl also known as (Northern Winking Owl, Western Winking Owl, Winking Owl, Screaming Woman) is a medium sized hawk-owl. Hawk-owls lack the definite heart shaped face of the tyto-owls (which include the Barn Owl, Tyto alba). Adult Barking Owls are grey-brown above, with white spots on the wings, and whitish below, heavily streaked with grey-brown. The head is almost entirely grey-brown, and the eyes are large and yellow. Young Barking Owls have less streaking on the underparts and are mottled white and grey-brown on the rear of the neck. Barking Owls are nocturnal birds (night birds), although they may sometimes be seen hunting during the day. (Ondine Evans 2011).…

I believe that dogs teach you how to be patient. When someone upsets you, avoid biting, a simple growl will do the trick. Dogs wait at home for you to go to work all day and don't complain a single word, and no matter how long you take to get home, they will always be at the door with their tails waving, welcoming you. Learn from dogs. What will be, will be, and like my mom always tells me, best things come to those who wait.…

One of the primary influences on how self esteem is formed is one's environment. A great majority of adults can recall either being the target of the insults of their peers as children; or, being the one that targeted the other kids. Those who were the instigators have, in all probability, shrugged it off as a part of growing up. However, for the victims of this practice, there are often deep scars.…

King once said that “by bringing our fears to the forefront of consciousness, we may find them to be more imaginary than real” and that “more often than not, fear involves the misuse of the imagination.” This couldn’t be further from the truth. We are human, and experiencing fear is a natural event; this is why courage requires fear, because we cannot escape the feeling. This means you are not alone with your fear, and knowing this can help soothe your fear. Knowing this will help you maintain a positive mindset, and this will help you excel in any situation. Remember, a lot of what you perceive is in your head, and not all of it is true. Having a positive attitude and mindset in a situation will help prevent you from getting dragged down by fear. Dr. King defied the odds, and he did it with a having a positive…
