Introduction
The most crucial time in the life of a child is during the period of Infancy and toddler. During this important time of the lifespan of the child, a critical and rapid emotional and cognitive development cycle is in action in conjunction with the usual physical development cycles. Cognitive developments primary role is to gather data, process it and effectively apply that data as the child ages. Development cycles in cognition and physical arenas demand interaction in their surrounding environment and interactions with other individuals such as siblings, parents, or their peers. The DVD videos have the words, their vocabulary, and are enhanced with the pleasure of music. The books that come with the set as well as the flash cards include words and images tied into the DVD progression, so the flash cards relate to a corresponding DVD. The idea is that while the DVD is in play, the cards, books, and music shore up the learning process. In order for the books to attract and at an attempt to keep the child’s attention, they are done in a colorful and engaging way so that they can garner the attention of the child, engaging the sensory responses the product claims it can achieve. It is no secrete that a higher rate of recognition of the words is increased through repetition, the more its seen and heard, the more the child supposedly remembers and responds to the desired effect. Make no mistake; this is not an overnight success. This process takes several months if it works at all, at least that is a claim I am making. According to the company behind the product, the product is best applied from the third month to the fourth month; a month is all? According to feedback, the people who have relied on this system seem to be pleased with the outcome, however; I put little faith in what I read. Feedback on products may sometimes be false or fabricated; we know how political figures take words out of context, same situation with supposed feedback with on-line products. This product is centered on word memorization instead of the phonemic system. Awareness of phonics however, has had more success in the education system instead of just
