Baby Boomers Interview
According to GENHQ.com, Baby Boomers were born between 1946 – 1964. Generation Y or better known as Millennials were born between the years 1977 – 1995. Approximately 43% of Baby Boomers will travel on vacation at least once in 2017, with an average of five trips throughout the year. There will be approximately 51% of Millennials that are expected to travel this year, with an average of six additional trips throughout the year. To get a better picture of how each generation vacations and their preferences I interviewed two people, one from the Baby Boomers Generation and one from the Millennials Generation. I asked each person the same questions to get an idea of how each generation likes to vacation. Amanda, born in 1978, answered my questions for Generation Y (Millennials) and Zondra, born in 1954, answered my questions for the Baby Boomers. First, I asked Amanda, where do you prefer to vacation now or where is your go to spot? She answered, “I prefer to vacation on a cruise. However, my go to vacation is usually Las Vegas.” My next question was, how long do you like to take a vacation? Her answer was, “I would love to spend two weeks on a vacation, but we usually do about a week (her and her family).” Next, I was wondering how much she spends on her vacations? Her go to vacation spot is any Disney resort.” My next question, how long do you like to take a vacation? “I prefer to take 2 weeks for a vacation.” Next I was wondering how much she spends on her vacations? She answered with “I look to spend no more than $6000-$7000.” My final question is, what do you look for in a vacation, what are some accommodations and amenities that you look for?
