Below is a free essay on "Personality Reflection" from Anti Essays, your source for free research papers, essays, and term paper examples.
Personality is what defined us as an individual. It is the, who and what and how we interact with one another. Personality is what gives an individual his or her identity on how they feel and act in a certain way. Understanding the types of personalities one have can help in deciphering emotions and social interactions. I will address the definition of personality, my own key personality features, how others view my personality, personality test and results, what makes a test reliable and valid.
According to Online Dictionary.com (2011), personality is defined as “the quality of being a person; existence as a self-conscious human being; personal identity.” The state of being a self-conscious is how I would define personality. Personality is the essence of human interaction. Take away the individual personalities and the interactions will become somewhat like a robotic and very predictable. Many researchers now and then have also tried to answer the question of what personality is and have come up with eight general approaches. The eight key aspects, which together help us understand the complex nature of the individual personality, are: “unconscious aspects, ego forces, biological being, conditioned and shaped, cognitive dimension, traits, skills and predispositions, spiritual dimension and interaction. (“Howard S. friedman and Miriam W. Schustack, 2009, p. 2”)

For as long as I can remember I have always been a helpful individual. More so than being rewarded for helping, my satisfaction has come from just knowing I help another in need. For example, I’ve learned at a young age to just help my mother in everything she does, this is also a

Personality is difficult to describe, but nearly impossible to define in a universally acceptable way. Throughout history many definitions of personality have been proposed but none universally accepted. This is because of the reality that each individual’s definition comes with a unique spin placed upon it by that individual’s life experience, surroundings, and personal viewpoint. Personality can be described as the regular presentation of certain traits and attributes that lend cohesion and uniqueness to behavior and thought (Feist & Feist, 2009). Although there is not a single, universally accepted definition of personality,…

According to Google, personality is defined as “the combination of characteristics or qualities that form an individual’s distinctive character”. Personalities stem from a person’s distinctive preferences, which helps them to develop their identity, which typically differs from the stereotypes that society has assigned to them. According to Barry McGuiness, personality can also be defined as “the human nature we all share [that] manifest in different styles of thinking, feeling, and acting” (McGuinness). Each person on Earth carries a unique personality, which allows them to view the world in different forms. Personalities are driven by how each person interacts with the environment as well as the people in the environment. In his article titled What Is Personality?” McGuinness also states that “somewhere between these two-our common humanity and our unique individuality-lies personality” (McGuinness). This statement emphasizes that the personalities of individuals stem from how they interact with their environment as well as the people in their environment. The personalities each individual carries are unique and often times differ from the stereotypes, or labels that society has created for…

There are many different ways that people are referenced and categorized. People are lumped into groups based off of gender, race, economic background and even social background. Of all these categories, personality is one category that differentiates us from one another. It is the one thing that makes us completely different and unique from everyone else. It is often easy to associate people with similar characteristics as having similar personalities, however psychologists know that similar characteristics have no influence on personalities being the same. People with similar genetics, experience and motivational factors often have completely different reactions…

Now its time for me to define my personality. Who am I? What events in my life influenced the person that I am today? Well I guess it started when I was born. The first few seconds that I peaked my head out of my mother 's womb into a huge place I now call "the world". I was in a room with people surrounding me and caring for my every need; such as cutting my umbilical cord, cleaning my body of amniotic fluid, and bonding with this woman that I now call "mommy". These first few moments in my life had a major impact on who I am today. Just think how it would be like if you were born, and just let out into the world without anyone to care for your needs. After all, this is the beginning of the dependency stage.…
