Avid 500 word essay
I think those who know me would best describe me as responsible. I am best known for taking care of my business and taking on the position of a leader when it comes to group projects. I have always been taught to never blame other for my shortfall and to always try to learn something positive from my mistakes. This strong mental attitude, along with being the oldest child, has made me aware of the importance in being responsible. Growing up, I was depended on to look after my four younger siblings while my parents worked endless hours. I have always viewed myself as the atlas of my household, carrying the load and blame of four other people, while trying to remain sane. I believe that being able to take on such a large responsibility as a young teen has defined and structured my character. I take pride in my achievements because I would not be the person I am today.
I have always found myself thoroughly thinking over a situation before I take action. I believe that it is important to think about an outcome before I make a move. Whether the outcome is good or bad, I have to take responsibility for my actions. I hope that this tactic will ignite my future next year as a college freshmen as well as something that will positively aid me throughout the duration of my life. Over the course of high school, I have slowly felt myself grow and mature into a young woman. I believe it is important to feel a change in your character through the course of high school. This change can either be good or bad, it is up to that person to determine what kind of person they would like to be. During my sophomore year, I felt a drastic change within myself. I went from being reckless to bringing my grades up significantly while rearranging my priorities. I decided it was time to take control of my future and do what was best for my future. I put my “friends” to the side, decided that hanging out at the movies could wait, and took on a whole new perspective about school. What might

As I look at essays from school and letters that I wrote to friends, my writing is like two different languages. For essays, I would write every single word out and my letters to my friends would have almost every word shortened. W/e, FYI, lol, w/b, lylas, brb. Sometimes I even use those words when I talk to my friends. I have even used the shortened words while I talked to my parents and they have told me to stop speaking gibberish and start speaking English. It is especially hard to write every single word out in school after summer break when all I did when I wrote was text my friends or write with the shortened words on MSN Messenger.…

My experience in avid so far has been really great. We got nice teachers and also the tutors that come to help us with any problem we have. Avid has influenced me by being more focused in class, and getting better grades, also avid has helped me reached a lot of goals in life. Avid has interested me in a lot of colleges, I’ve gotten four letters from different colleges that would like me to go there to study, and avid really helps a lot. Avid has made a lot of great opportunities like being an honors student for passing all my pre AP classes. My avid teachers, all my avid teachers have helped me a lot with grades, keeping up with my work and for them I wouldn’t of probably be in high school right now. 8th grade was my first year in avid and I realized that I wanted to go to college. Avid is the best program to achieve your goals going to college. I still remember that day Mrs. Medina had told me “Nayeli come here, I’ve been checking your grades and you’re not passing math, you need to start staying for torturing so you can pass this semester” “I know Mrs. I’ve been paying attention but I just don’t get it.” “Well you should start questioning questions about math in tutorials” “okay Mrs. I will.” Mrs. Medina really cared about my grades she was always there for all of us, if she will see that we weren’t passing she would make us go to torturing because she wanted us to pass. 8th grade was the best year; I will never forget my 8th grade. Participating in avid is really great, avid helps us to get to college and helps us to get ready. Our family hasn’t faced any obstacles yet but if we ever do we will try to help each other to resolve the problem. My family is really happy that I got in avid, because avid has helped me a lot with my grades I’ve had brought my grades up a lot this passed months that we’ve been in school. Also has also helped me with my attitude, being a really good student helps a lot with grades, also having a good…

Everybody has those certain things that they would never do for certain reasons. My three things I wouldn’t ever in my life do are go skydiving, take somebody’s life, and have no future for myself or in other words be a nobody. Since the beginning of first year at the high school I have noticed my personality change. I think that now I have more self-esteem and confidence in myself than I had two or three years ago. I have developed a passion for helping others and I would describe myself as a very generous and caring person. I love to hang out with my friends and I think I am a fun outgoing person. I like to have a good time and I am easy to get along with. I can listen to people when they need someone to talk to and I can sometimes give good advice.…

My dad has always made it his goal to teach me how to be responsible, and that’s exactly what he’s done. I have watched my father run a growing carpet business for my entire life. He let my mom stay at home and take care five boys and took it upon himself to financially provide for us. Ever since I was little, I have had chores to do. If the chores were done, he would find some other job for me to do. I hated doing these chores and still do today, but I have learned that my dad was trying to teach me more than just discipline, he was teaching me responsibility. He set expectations for me and then taught me to work beyond them. For example, when I mow my neighbors lawns, I don’t just do what I feel is good enough, I take the time to do it right. I take responsibility in any mistakes that I may have made, and take pride in the good work that I do. Responsibility is a quality that is vital to success and I am glad to have been taught it.…

Ethics are codes of conduct that decide what is wrong and what is right in a particular circumstance. If they had not existed, we would not have known which human behaviours are good or bad. For instance, stealing is a bad code of conduct. Therefore, ethics guide humans to behave properly in society. Ethics should also be followed by people doing commerce, but often in the purpose to make more profits businessmen forego their ethics. So, is it always correct to say that ethics and business are fundamentally incompatible?…
