AUTOBIOGRAPHY
I Petal King, was born in Tobago on the twenty seventh of July nineteen eighty eight. I am presently living at the nurses hostel in Port-Of-Spain and attend COSTAATT(College Of Applied Arts Of Trinidad and Tobago).
My family is the best thing that ever happened to me, my mother Gloria Alfred born eleventh December. She is the best mother anyone could ask for, being a single mother for approximately fourteen years since my father passed away in a accident. My father was an ambulance driver, he was also a very caring person I doubt he had any enemies because of the kind of person he was. I was nine years old when my father passed away. That day was devastating both for my family as well as the community, because in our community everyone knew him very well. Since then my mother took care of us from a young age until my two brothers and I was old enough to provide for ourselves, my mother is a very strong, hardworking woman that will do anything to make sure that we are happy and will always encourage us to pray and work hard at whatever we set out to do in life. Also since my father passed away his side of the family keeps to themselves, I also have been a victim of being treated bad by my father’s side of the family, this situation took place when I first came to Trinidad to begin my studies.
There isn’t much traditions in my family, the only tradition that was implemented from since my brothers and I were younger is that every Christmas morning, my mother as well as my two brothers and I have a family breakfast. I could remember when it had holidays Divali in particular, my mother would make roti along with other dishes and all of us including my cousins will

My family defines who I am as a person because they are my backbone and the reason why I strive to do my best. My mother’s family has sheltered me ever since I was born they were there for me when I had nobody. Generally I was unwanted by my other side of family, but my mother’s family never neglected me, they have made my life very easy and guided. In my understanding the reason why I said they are my backbone is because as a child( Baby) I had nothing and I was seriously ill but they never abounded me. My grandparents also went far distance into the village to find a cure to my illness and my aunties & uncle used their dorm room bed sheet as a cloth for me. This is why I appreciate everything in my life because I was a nobody as a baby.…

My mother’s parents were born in Kafkaso, a town in Minor Asia, which at that time belonged to Greece. With the war of 1921, the Turks forced my mother’s parents to flee to Athens. Six-word Memoir is a scheme originally established by a U.S founded storytelling publication. The publication aimed at presenting a podium for storytelling in all its kinds. For instance, ‘I can’t keep my own secrets’ is a six word memoir that depicts an individual’s tendency to reveal chief secrets or significant past moments in their lives. On the other hand, when I say ‘Alcohol has utterly ruined my life’, then I am simply trying to inform the reader of my continued abuse of alcohol and my bitter…

Those who are opposed to the idea of men and women playing baseball together, often defend their argument with the belief that women are not physical capable of participating in sports. In addition they often entice the belief that women are more susceptible to injury than men. This is not a valid reason to exclude women and there is an abidance of research that refutes this claim. In addition to excluding women based on their sex, the sport of baseball is connected to racial segregation. It was believed that baseball was a white man's sport and only men who were white possessed the ability to play the sport. This ideology has filtered into present society, resulting in a few number of African Americans or people of color who participate in the sport. With that being said race is absolutely a factor in whether or not women can play baseball with men. Women who are not white are seen as inferior and they are not expected to be successful in playing baseball. There are great deal of stereotypes that surround race and a person's athletic ability. These stereotypes have been around since the "Americanization" of baseball and traces of them are still evident today. Physical size and strength, the possibility of injuries, and the color of one's skin have been used as strong reasons to prohibit women and girls from entering the world of baseball, all of these claims are absurd and false, these issues should not just be associated women due to their biological sex. Women regardless of race are just as capable as men to participate in the sport of baseball. We can alleviate and erase these myths surrounding the inferiority of women and the superiority of men in the arena of sports. To solve this problem we must start early, we must preparing girls early to have the ability and skill to play baseball amongst their male counterparts.…

At this very day, I am still wondering as to what happened to our perfect friendship. I may never know the reason, however, I can bring some clarity into my understanding of this discontinued friendship. My life started with my long and hard birth on July 14, 1993. I came into the world with a large scream and was immediately placed into some sort of category. The doctors and nurses took a quick look at me, and pronounced me as a girl. This social label of being a girl was now my gender, which is something I had no say in. Every since that very moment in time where my parents were told I was a girl, I have been treated according to my gender. This meant that my parents automatically dressed me in pink, bought me dollhouses and kitchen sets and threw me Barbie themed birthday parties. Since I was surrounded my whole entire life by these things, it was almost like second nature to think and act the way that I did and still do. My socialization skills, which to put simply are the accepted ways in society to behave or how I express myself, have all been shaped by the fact that I am a female. The socialization process is how we learn to act or to follow norms along with what to believe. There have been many agents of socialization in my life, which are the people and types of situations that teach us as human beings how to act and can shape your personality which I’m going to describe.…
