Authority In Lord Of The Flies
In Lord of the Flies Jack proves that people are essentially evil through his actions and dialogues with other boys on the island. For example, he would speak with the other boys and say, “‘His specs-use them as burning glasses’” (Golding 40) Jack uses has authority even though Ralph is chief and uses that to his advantage to make the boys do what he wants. This is definitely a good example of how humans are essentially evil because using authority to get people to do what they want is very selfish and self-centered.
