Authority Approach To Counseling Patients
If I was faces with this situation I would first talk to the nurses who were humiliating the patients. While confronting the nurses I would make sure that they understand why patients especially the elderly should be treated with respect. By using the tradition approach, I can appeal to their beliefs about how people should be cared for. This approach may not be effective if the nurses to not see the situation the way everyone else does. The authority approach would be more effective in this situation. The nurses are more likely to listen to a person with authority then someone who has only been working at the facility for a week.
