Audrey Hepburn I chose Audrey Hepburn because everyone knows how much of an influence on fashion she is. Audrey Hepburn is a famous actress from the 1940s, who showcased fashion in every movie she was in. Hepburn has influenced fashion and society in one of the hugest ways possible, by introducing a garment that would become a classic. She popularized a clothing style that would never go out of fashion, and that will be worn for decades to come. Audrey Hepburn started one of the most classic trends, which is the little black dress. In Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Hepburn rocked this dress that would start this everlasting trend everywhere. You can spot people wearing it anywhere. Many women wear this as a cocktail dress, or to go out to parties. This dress can also be accessorized with many different things because black is a base color. Basically, anything looks good with it. Audrey also started another classic trend: the pearl necklace. Even though women had already been wearing pearls, she started the trend of young women wearing pearls instead of diamonds. She thought that diamonds were way too old and mature and should be worn by older, more experienced women. In my opinion, I think that Audrey Hepburn’s trends will last forever. It’s already been over half a century since she has started those trends, and they are still in style today. Some fashion experts say that Audrey’s longevity as an icon in fashion was because she stuck to the clean, modest lines, a minimal color palette and bold accessories. Her simple, but cute fashion in her movies forever changed the way a lot of women looked at clothes and fashion in the 20th century. All in all, you can never go wrong with the little black dress and some pearls to match.
