How Careless Accidents Can Be Avoided?
Intro:
Careless accidents can be avoided in many ways, I will specifically be explaining on how we can avoid car accidents on our roads. Through the past years to present, our death rates on car accidents are at an alarming rate. The three main causes of car accidents are over speeding, poor road conditions and the use of cell phones while driving.
Body:
Many a time drivers don’t take into consideration about their speed limit. They tend to speed ignorantly on the roads not following the speed limit. In this case they are basically over speeding on the road not only putting themselves at risk but also the passengers and the pedestrians. Thus, in many cases over speeding leads to careless accidents that also leads to deaths on our roads.
Kings road has been recently opened with new tasseled road and road signs. However, due to the changing in weather it adds to the destruction of our roads. Heavy rain after a hot day creates pot holes on our roads and it takes ages to be fixed. Many a time drivers try to dodge pot holes not being considerate of coming vehicles. In some cases, they’re too late to get back in their right lane causing careless accidents on our roads. Thus, pot holes and sometimes the lack of proper road signs are additional factors to road accidents.
Cell phones and latest gadgets are also additional factors to road accidents. Many carry their cell or mobile phones almost everywhere with them; it’s like a part of them. Thus, in most cases people drive and use their phone at the same time. It is very dangerous to do this as we need our full concentration on the road while driving. Many think it won’t hurt to talk and drive at the same time, but many have lost the wheel while talking and driving at the same time. This is because half the concentration is on the road and half concentration on the phone. Therefore, in we need to consider giving our full concentration while driving to avoid car accidents.

According to the New York Times, using a phone while operating a vehicle puts drivers at four times the risk of crashing as other drivers. The likelihood that the crash would happen is the same as someone with a .08 percent blood alcohol level (where drivers are considered to be intoxicated) (Richtel 1). A 2003 Harvard study estimated that 330,000 car accidents occurred in the United States with moderate and severe injuries among the victims as a result of cell phone use. Another 2,600 cell phone related accidents resulted in a death (Richtel 1). The problem is that most drivers over estimate their ability to multi-task.
