Atlanta, Ga Vacation Spots
Traveling is one of my favorite things to do. I have been to many places like Paris, France, and many other places, but one of my favorite places to go to is to Atlanta, Georgia. In Atlanta, there are many places to go and sights to see. For example, Six Flags, Stone mountain Park, and the Atlanta Braves Stadium, are all in or near the city of Atlanta. These places are family oriented and are easy to get to by a car, or a bus.
Six Flags is a theme park that has anything from sweet treats to fun rides. Six Flags provides many things for all ages to do and enjoy. You also can see famous cartoon characters, such as Bugs Bunny, walking around the park. Teenagers and adults who have strong stomachs might enjoy riding the huge roller coasters. For example, The Ninja is one of my favorites. The Ninja is red and black and is very fast and is over in a heartbeat. It goes up and down steep hills and even loops upside down. Six Flags also has water rides available to keep people cool from the warm weather. My favorite is Thunder River. Last summer, I was lucky enough to get caught under the waterfall, which is just my luck. Six Flags also has games to play and many souvenir shops. The games are loud and have huge stuffed animals as a prize for winning. As for the sweets I mentioned, the funnel cakes are absolutely delicious, they are cooked to perfection and are topped with powdered sugar. I would recommend Six Flags as a place to go when visiting Atlanta for family fun and a great bonding time to hang out with friends.
Stone Mountain Park is another tourist attraction near Atlanta. The park is located in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Not only is it a fun place to visit, but also it is also historical. The mountain is the largest exposed piece of granite in the world. The same man who carved Mt. Rushmore carved the face of the mountain; however, he did not finish it. The carving,. The width of the carving is the width of a football field. Along with historical museums, the park

In 1895, Booker T. Washington gave what later came to be known as the Atlanta Compromise speech before the Cotton States and International Exposition in Atlanta. In this speech he preached that in order to gain understanding from whites, African Americans would have to concentrate on creating economic security by improving their skills. He preached the importance of an education and that no African American should be denied of it. Instead of hatred between blacks and whites, they should work together and make America a better place. In his speech he says “Cast down your buckets where you are” he was referring to African Americans and how they should make the most of their situation; instead of protesting and trying to reach political equality, they should make the most out of it and try to get an education. He also referred this to the whites. He told African Americans that they should stop trying to achieve political equality. Even though he did say this, he still believes that African American should have the right to vote because with this they can learn the exercise of self-government. He was trying to show them that his people are still going to work on the fields, build their railroads, and continue to make America what it has become; all it takes is just giving them a chance.…

Another very popular vacation destination is theme parks. Places like Disney World, Dollywood, Six Flags, Universal Studios and Sea World offer big doses of high energy family fun. Theme parks are most popular amongst families with small children. There are plenty of activities geared directly toward holding children’s interests. There is also something magical about theme parks that draws in adults. The sights, the sounds, but mostly the way they make them feel. They remind them of simpler times, like when they were children and didn’t have a care in the world. The benefit to these vacations is that they require very little planning. The only thing you have to plan is how to get there. Once you arrive at the theme…
