As Long as People in the Pubic Eye Do Their Job Well, It Does Not Matter What They Do in Private
As long as people in the public eye do their job well it does not matter what they do in private. I do not totally agree with this statement. The term ‘people in the public eye’ are too general a term. Politicians, celebrities and many others are all part of the ‘people in the public eye’. Even though everyone is entitled to their own privacy, as ‘people in the public eye’, they ought to be more mindful of their behaviour in public, and of course, in private.
Firstly, what they do in private may impact their public lives. They may be able to put on a façade at first, but ultimately, their true character will be revealed. Furthermore, one will not be able to change their character according to the situation they are facing, as such; this will affect their decisions at work. For example, if they are working in the government sector, they are representatives of their country, any existence of negative news will cause members of the other countries to lose faith in their country. Besides that, they are also role models for the people and their actions holds an indirect impact on them.
Secondly, by choosing to be a public figure, they are indirectly agreeing to risk their privacy and to expose their private lives. For example, as an artiste, kids of all ages look up to Miley Cyrus as an idol, a role model. After news of her consuming drugs broke out, these vulnerable group of kids are affected greatly.
Lastly, their actions will only give others an excuse to do the same thing. Besides that, their actions will affect the people’s mind set and attitude towards similar issues.
However, I do not deny that there are people in the public eye who are not affected by the negative news and are in fact doing well in their individual careers. There are a few examples of people who have managed to stage a comeback despite the negative impact on their reputation. Namely, Jack Neo, Tiger Woods, Jay Park and a few others.
Firstly, it is unfair to judge a person capabilities

They influence you to be the best that you could be. Nowadays, we are being exposed to negative role models in the music industry. Many celebrities don’t realize that they are a role model to others. Some celebrities are not aware that their music motivates and inspires many people. For example, Miley Cyrus. Many people see her as a horrible role model because of her actions lately. Many believe that she has changed for the worst and instead of encouraging her fans to do good, she has developed an auspicious image of herself. Miley transitioned from an inspirational character on Disney Channel to a rebel involved with drugs, alcohol, and being provocative. Young kids look up to her and she is demonstrating a poor example because she’s influencing them to make careless, terrible decisions in the future.
