* \ * Capstone Checkpoint * * * * How are the arts in your community supported by various agencies and citizens? * * * Where I live I have to say art is not really a big part of our town. There is one place called Liz Tech that does make their hand mad jewelry and other crafts. Other than that where they are on their block we do not have a lot of art threw out. What we have I would call is a lot of natural art, meaning not manmade, or handmade. It is made from nature. Items that have formed over time from nature itself. Such as rocks falling, the way tress are bent and the way the leaves fall where people come just to take photos of it. Also we do have some older buildings around that have a great art look about them. We really do not have art houses or anything like that. What we do have is where the home town of late Artists Frank Frezzta is. Was a well knowed all over the world. * * Do you think there is enough or not enough support of the arts by these entities? Explain why or why not. * * Our town can use more art and more culture items that show who we all are. I believe it is a good thing when a town can be them self and show who they are. I feel like place of where I live am so stuck in their ways that we sometimes are never willing to change. What I believe is bring more art in can expand the revenue we bring to this town. Our town needs to get more hip to art. I personally myself love art and believe that a lot is told threw it in many different ways. I feel that more places in our town need to expand their art ways to show what and who we are. * * * What is your role in the creation and support of art in your community? * * I would have to say I cannot draw for my life, but I see myself food artists. I’m a chef and I try to make my food and neatly and perfect as possible it looks like art. Like a drawing people at first eat with their eyes so I like them to look at my food and see wow look at this master piece. As far as that that’s how I feel I add to the world of art in my town * *

The city of Los Angeles response to the destruction of mural artwork is filled with upset and distraught emotions. The people of Los Angeles enjoyed looking at the murals painted in L.A. Donna Williams remembers how those images transformed her commute. "It was always a pleasure to come to certain parts of the freeway and see the murals that you loved. Some you liked, some you didn’t like so much. They were there. And like all art, it was evocative," Donna said. Art advocates in L.A hold hope that these murals will boost civic pride again someday.
