Final Project: Art timeline
After careful review and consideration, I have decided to create a timeline for the museums website that will focus on the medium of Coffee Stain Portrait. The internet has become a wonderful medium for young artist. This timeline shows a modern look at the resources available to showcase their artwork in a free public forum. I chose painting with coffee because I feel this collection will attract website traffic and possibly advance the careers of these talented youths. Understandably some might think that in comparison to famous artist or well known paintings, painting with coffee is not the best choose. I strongly disagree and the fallowing presentation will hopefully prove the importance of finding youth and new materials to express artist creativity.

    The original artwork of the Mona Lisa was painted on a wood known as poplar wood. The Mona Lisa is an admirable work of art, due to every detail being exemplified within the painting itself. The face represents a sense of modeling while also appearing to be realistic. Leonardo da Vinci worked on this painting, along with many others, by being patient and creative: he first applied a few layers of coating onto a wooden panel, then he began drawing his central theme right onto his work of art because he then began drawing it in oil, applying turpentine which happened to not be as strong, and allowed him to draw on countless coatings of translucent color, better known for the term glaze, and to ceaselessly redesign the face. The transparent color increases the effects on the face with the way the shaded area is distinctively opposite to the area of the face that happens to contain light. The reason that this method of painting is applied on artworks is so that it can allow the ideal replica of a person’s skin, because of delicate treatment of how a person is supposed to look like transmitted into some sort of shaded entity, which allowed Leonardo to content his fixation with authenticity.…

    This drawing is considered to be a more honest depiction of the events held at Medicine Lodge Creek due to what aspect he includes that all others are missing. When looking over a comparison drawing of the event, done by Taylor, you notice that in Taylor’s drawing, there are many native men, and white men, but only one woman.     Travelers among Mountains and Streams is comprised of several design elements. Form, leading lines, and shape. These design elements move the eye throughout the painting in a continuous interaction between the elements. Each section is well balanced and rich in content. The large mountain in the foreground sets the foundation for the painting by serving as a barrier, keeping the viewers eyes from leaving the page. The area showing the travelers moving in the stream sets a sense of motion, engaging the eye to travel through the painting. The grand scale of all the elements inspire the viewer to be transported into the realm of fantasy promoted by Northern Song painters. The painting takes on a naturalistic feel that is derived from the combination of paint, ink, and silk. The people and mules moving through the stream bring a sense of scale to the painting. They are an important element in that they are in direct comparison to the large Mountain. The helps promote the idea that there is something bigger than all of of us and that humans are somehow spiritually connected to the earth. An important idea that Northern Song Artist aspired to communicate through ere work. The painting is done in a realistic approach yet is not set in a specific place further enhancing the dream like quality meant to promote spiritual communication and enlightenment. This interpretation is about the balance between the countryside and mans attempt to conquer it brought to life in the form of a painting by Fan Kuan. In the painting the small humans are engulfed by the enormous mountains giving the effect of unattainability, yet the human spirit to conquering the elements arises out of the need explore.
