Army Value Of Self Discipline
Discipline is priority in everyday Army life. It is an essential attribute in what it means to be successful and able to possess a long lasting Army career. Upholding standards and discipline are the foundation of being professionally, legally, and morally correct and such practices instill trust in ourselves and our entire military organization. Developing definitive trust in one another, in our leaders, and in the Army builds strength within every unit, our esprit de corps, our full sense of pride, and our Army society. The practice and fortitude of self-discipline is a primary duty of everyday Army life. Being strong in the presence of great adversity requires personal courage, honor, selfless service, and all of the Army values. To take accountability and responsibility for all of our actions at all times and at all costs, to do what is right in the presence of mental and physical adversity; embodies the meaning of being an Army …show more content…
Living the Warrior Ethos and upholding the Army Values is a standard that we should uphold proudly every day, living the life of a Soldier. Lacking discipline and self-standards will adversely impact the entire chain of command within the Army, and may affect that chain from the bottom to top. A disregard for self-discipline also diminishes the continuity and readiness of our force and destroys the trust, good faith, and hope that the American public which has been placed in the hands of each and every Soldier in the Army. Discipline is not a punishment, it is a behavior, an attitude, and a lifestyle. Discipline is why Army leaders have attained their station in the Army, and in life. I am condudcting this rbi because myself along with a few other soldiers in the platoon fucked up today and since i am on profile and cannot conduct the pushup and the sittup, my profile states that i can only walk at my own pace a distance for Physical Training, which is now called PRT standing for Physical Readiness Training, therefore writing this rbi is the punishment my leaders deemed neccesary for corrective action toward myself and others that fucked up in the platoon.
