Army
They way society is today…being in the Army is one of the wisest choices I’ve made in my life, many people take being in the Army for granted and have no clue how beneficial the army can be. Your rent is guaranteed paid every month, money for food and your basically approved for anything in the world as long as you serve in the Army or any branch of service. You also gain free knowledge and experience that many outside people in the civilian world do not have the chance or opportunity to be a part of. The Army has a lot to offer and as a smart and knowledgeable individual that I am taking I plan on taking advantage of majority of the things that is being offered to me on a daily basis. The Army is about discipline, being in the right uniform at the right time and place, respecting the leaders above you and your peers under you and being proficient in your MOS .I use to think the Army was not for me I use to think it was too many rules and that it had nothing to offer. Back in June 2008 at age 18 after a year in the service I decided to get out of the Army and work at Wal-Mart, that was the worst mistake I ever made in my life the first thing I missed of course was the guaranteed checks on the 1st and 15th, whether you was sick or took regular leave/emergency leave your pay never changed. While in the army I never worried about being fired, if I was late to work there would be a counseling statement and/or maybe some corrective training it depended on your NCO and what they wanted to do but in the civilian world if your late even once or more than once, if you back talk to your supervisor or don’t do your job correct they can fire you very quick with no remorse because they know there are plenty of people who want and would appreciate your job, especially in the failing economy nowadays . I decided to change my attitude on how horrible the Army was and give it a second chance. I rejoined the United States Army October in 2009 at 20 yrs old. Since then its

Duty is a word of importance I my field of profession. It can determine if you save a life or save millions of dollars for the people you work for. Being on time and where you are supposed to be is very important while serving in the army or any other branch of service .The military waste millions of dollars on appointments every year. This Plan of action is ambiguous and confusing. From the oral statements that were made from you I believe you wish for me to write 2000essay (Importance of Accountability in the army) i.e.: appropriate place of duty, proper place and proper time. I Pride myself on being a soldier that is accountable for his actions at all times. The reason for this essay is, I did not follow proper orders and was not at my correct place of duty for work call or medical appointment on time, due to miscommunication through higher, but there is still no excuse for me to be undisciplined and not informing my chain of command to let them know where I had to be . A soldier should be at right place and right time as soldier. There are many reasons why myself and other soldiers to include jr and senior should be at your place of duty at the right time as a soldier. The most important reason being the soldier’s safety and accountability. That’s why it’s implemented by the NCO 's appointed over them. NCO’s tells you that you need to be at a location, on time; therefore you need to be there. Our NCO’s are only trying to help us. NCO’s want what is best for their soldier’s. This shows structure in soldiers in and the soldiers ' unit. As soldiers there are daily missions that call for them to be at the right place and right time. It 's not a good look on a soldier when they can’t do a simple task such right place and right time or making the appointments that have been made to help them better their health and well being as a soldier. This actually shows that the soldier can’t be depended on when they are needed. This hinders a soldier when they are being…

I had to adapt to the military life style and change my ways in order to be successful. This was a lot hard to do than you may think. I never receive any paper work in the military but I came close a lot of time. I do believe that if I was in another unit I probably wouldn't made it far in my Air Force career. I have been in over 8 years now and I'm on my way to having a successful career.…

I finally signed the dotted line and ready to be shipped off to Basic combat training and got the MOS of a 94M Radar Repairer. Which I knew nothing about. I still kept on working on losing the weight. And then I got to OTD.... Game changer. Basic was nothing compared to OTD. Then I met SSG Nessen, SSG Hohmann, SSG Leal, and SSG Freeman. I never had to work this hard for something til I got to OTD. Which is what I needed. I got pissed, start punching doors til my knuckles bleed, get in trouble for the most stupidest crap, do details like scrubbing the floors, police call the yard 5 times a day just because ect, ect, ect. Ive learned how to be patient, do BY THE BOOK PT with your fingers straight and arms parallel with the marching surface, palm facing in at all times. Though some days I don't give a…
