Arguments Against Medical Marijuana
The debate over whether or not the risks and rewards of Medical Marijuana are worth it all comes down to a science. Research has shown that some strains of Medical Marijuana help cancer patients reduce the pain they receive from the tumorous cells, others help PTSD, Arthritis, Glaucoma, Alzheimer's and many other diseases. Medical Marijuana should also be studied and treated like every other type of medicine. Therefore, I believe Medical Marijuana should be legal nationwide. Cancer is a prime example of what Medical Marijuana can treat. Patients in some states in the U.S can use Medical Marijuana to help slow the cancer cells from growing in their body, therefore slowing down the spread rate. Smoking Medical Marijuana has been shown to be helpful in treating nausea and vomiting during chemotherapy, and has shown to improve the eating habits of patients. However, if you solely rely on Medical Marijuana, you may suffer from serious health consequences. Individuals shouldn’t rely solely on Medical Marijuana if they are prescribed. Yes, patients now have a means to increase the usage of marijuana not only to people who aren’t prescribed it and too minors, adding to their income. Though not a smart idea, people caught doing this should be severely fined with potential jail time. Illegal usage of medical marijuana should not be taken lightly in states that don’t allow recreational use.
