America is often referred to as the “salad bowl” because it is extremely diverse, there are many different people that come from all over the world, adapting to a completely different environment from their own but still able to retain the uniqueness of their cultures. People come to America due to various reasons, most come willingly while only a few come reluctantly, but in the end, it all comes down to them simply wanting to seek for a better life (Legrain, 2007). America was built on immigration and it has become a prominent part of the country’s success and economy, allowing America to have the opportunity to interact with many different cultures, and providing growth in the labor force.

Though it is undeniable that immigration benefits America in many different ways, however, it is not fair to let illegal immigrants come freely as they receive benefits that citizens and legal immigrant are paying for. There should not be a limit to how many immigrants are allowed to travel to America as long as they meet all the standards and requirements. The reason why the number of illegal immigrants is high is due to them not being able to obtain legal access to America.
