Argumentative Essay On Leukemia And Disease
For many years, leukemia and cancer had taken the lives of many victims. There have been numerous attempts to kill off these diseases but to no avail. However, Immune Engineering may change the way that we view cures for leukemia and cancer. This new type of research and cure process might just be the answer that the human race as a whole had been looking for. Using T Cells from the human body and mutating them to help defend the human body. Certain genetically altered white blood cells are made to hunt and destroy Leukemia. These cells have had a total of four genetic changed, two of which introduced a new technique of genome editing. A business that is one of the few leaders of cancer cure research, Cellectis, devised a gene-editing method called TALENs. This is a way of making cuts and fixes to DNA in living cells. Coming at a total of four genetic changes, this process is the most advanced way of curing diseases the humans have at the moment. When Cellectis began development of the treatment in 2011, they claimed they had found a way to gain control over T cells in the human body. Their efforts were shown to be a success while lab tests continuously showed more and more positive results. However, some patients don’t have enough T cells to perform this process. Seeing this as an important issue, Cellectis set out using gene editing to make a more so engineered but simpler universal supply of T cells made from the blood of donors. In conclusion, Immune Engineering has a long way to go before it hits all hospitals as the go-to cure for cancer, leukemia, and maybe even more. IT is very close to becoming a cure, but we still have years of research and tests to see how safe this process really is. With pure knowledge and science, this cure is basically right around the corner. Will this actually be the cure-all for
