Argumentative Essay: Birth Of A New Child
Alano Contreras
English

Birth of a new child has always been a very special moment for couples as well as the first couple of weeks of that child’s life. This isn’t always a time a father gets to be there too witness because he is always working and trying to provide for this family member he has. This is why some companies offer a policy that allows the father to stay home with his newborn for several weeks while still earning partial pay and benefits. Some people may be quick to disagree with this policy because they may think it’s unfair, but I highly agree and approve of this policy. I think it’s important for a father to be around as much as possible for the newborn. The father then can have quality time with his new kid and help out as needed around the house too.

Company’s sometimes use the partial pay as a loyalty reward. Although some people disagree this policy is created for the working man in mind. Some working men think they miss out on half their child’s life just because they are having to work, this gives fathers a chance to connect with their kids early on and see the more special and memorable times of a new life. This policy should be granted everywhere that requires lots of work hours and for those who have worked there for a decent amount of time. This a definitely a policy that is for the hard working people who would like time to regroup with their family. a company that can offer a policy like this can build morale with their employees as well as help their employees and their family’s

Fathers-to-be should be granted paternity leave because they will be able to help the mother rest, heal, and recover from the pregnancy and having the baby. The father could take care of the baby while the mother gets to rest, hang with friends, recovers, or goes back to work. If a father is taking care of the baby, the mother can get much needed alone time. A father could also help the mother out by taking care of the child so they won’t have to get child care right away, seeing how child care is expensive, and so is a newborn baby.…

It’s a tussle for many people but the most imperative priorities in life, such as family, should not be abandon. Fathers are now recognizing that it’s important to apply quality time with their children. In both articles, Double Daddy, and Diary of a Mad Blender, Penny Parker, author of Double Daddy, explains that, “now it men who also want to be great fathers”. Meaning, fathers are driving family over work and also spending additional time with their love ones. In contrast, Sue Shellenbarger, who wrote Dairy of a mad Blender, parroted that “She realized, her presence is a pretense of little value to her son”.…

The birth of a child is a momentous occasion in a person’s life. It may signal the transition of a couple to a family, or the expansion of an already established family unit. The manner in which it is handled can have lasting positive or negative effects. Traditional mother/baby care meant that a nurse was assigned to mother while the nursery nurse was responsible for the baby. The baby transitioned in the nursery until he/she was ready to be with the mother. The infants also boarded in the nursery at night while the mother slept. Current literature suggests however that better outcomes are achieved when the family unit is maintained, keeping the mother and baby together from birth to discharge.…

“Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus” (Lowenstein). Abortion is and always has been a very controversial issue. The above definition explains why the debate of abortion is so debatable. A much asked question is whether or not the unborn child is considered human or not human. Since I am pro-life, I consider the unborn to be human, not just an embryo. I believe abortion should be illegal because it harm’s the pregnant woman’s body, it is against some religions. There are other options besides abortions available, and I believe that abortion is the murder of a human being. Abortion should be illegal to protect the unborn fetus; however, the mother’s health is also a…

Becoming a mother is a beautiful thing you get to carry your child for nine months and after those nine months, you finally get to meet the person you’ve created. Once you have met your baby, you are so in love you just want to spend as much time as you can with your baby. To do this you take maternity leave from your job. While your job is happy that you have had a baby they are not happy that you will be gone an extended period of time. Some employers and employees have a lot of rude things to say like “Maternity leave is a huge burden to a woman's employer. Why should the company pay extended absences for workers who aren't contributing?”(bustle.com) “Becoming a mother is a choice, so why should others have to pay for your choice?”(bustle.com) “But it's really unfair to men who have children, or other women in the workplace who choose not to have kids.”(bustle.com) As a woman who is about to give birth, you don’t want to hear comments like those. While some of those comments are hard to stomach some women deal with even more stress because their job doesn’t offer paid maternity leave. All of those employers who doesn’t want to pay women for their maternity leave came into this world from a woman. So how could they disrespect another woman and not pay her? Should women be fully paid while on maternity leave?…

Interactions very between family members, and it is likely that relationships within a family can be very different from one another. Similar to the article discussed previously there are many studies that providing evidence that fathers-child interactions are crucial in aiding development of children. In “Understanding the Contribution of a Father’s Warmth on His Child’s Social Skills” it is argued that “Fathers may interact differently than mothers with their children, and fathers may socialize their children in important and distinctive ways above and beyond the contributions to socialization that mothers provide.” If mothers and fathers have different strengths that can benefit the child it is likely that having a family with both parents…

“The parents has to pass a course and take an exam in order to have a child” Summary argumentation Pro They are basically saying that the education of the child is the most important thing, because they are the future, so the parents have to know how manage that education, with courses, exams… They put as an example the adoption parents, people that wait for a year until they have their child, also they came up with a statistic about that the 80% of the child that receive abuse, are because of their parents. Validity of argumentation Pro They always mention a lot of arguments, saying from where they take it out, so we can say that the validity in terms of veracity are good. In spite of this my opinion is that some of the arguments that they say as “the 80% of the child that receive abuse are from their biological parents”, I think that is not something that can proof that the test make the adoption parents more capable and less aggressive with their children. Evaluation quality of sources Pro Almost all the sources that they use, are from statistics centers in the USA, or sentences that someone says, so the quality is good. Summary argumentation Contra The primary argument that the contra side said was that “no one can prove that the test is works” that means you can say with a 100% of security that a person that pass the test, can be a good parent. The other argument was that you can’t control the number of births that someone is going to have, and neither can you say that someone can have a children or not. Validity of argumentation Contra I strongly feel that all the argumentation of the contra side, are really logic (even they didn’t support their argumentation usually with official sources) so the validity of them was always high.…

Abortion has been a subject of controversy for years, but recently it has come to light in the media more and more. Anywhere from social networking to television news, the topic almost seems unavoidable in today’s society. Why is abortion so vastly debated? Is there a true black and white answer to the concept at hand? In short, not particularly. It’s true, there is a heaping amount of grey area when it comes to abortion, and those who hold opinions hold them tenaciously. But are their ideas well researched? There are many myths about pregnancy among those who identify as pro-life, and there is strong evidence that legal abortions may be the safest route after all.…
