There are always those few times when there is absolutely nothing to watch on T.V. You are flipping through channels, when you come across something interesting on MTV. May be It is Teen Mom or maybe it is 16 & pregnant. We are told that teen pregnancies are wrong and most of us agree with this. Then why do we watch these shows, boosting their ratings and giving them reasons to stay on the air. We need to stop watching these pathetic shows and take a stand.
One of the reasons why you need to stop watching these shows is because they encourage teen pregnancies. When some viewers watch these shows they may be wrongly influenced. They could start to think that teenage pregnancies are okay. Additionally, the teen moms on these shows are rewarded for getting pregnant, at such a young age, with the promise of fame and money. Not to mention the fact that teens are getting pregnant, some of them again, just to be on these shows.
Another reason why you need to stop watching these shows is because they exploit teen pregnancies. The producers on these shows are getting money for showing teen pregnancies on T.V. The teens on these shows are given money for letting these people take advantage of their struggle. Plus, the make up rumours and start controversy to make the show more popular.
The last reason why you need to stop watching these shows is because they glamorize teen pregnancies. They don’t show the struggle teen moms have with society. The producers make the pregnancy look better by paying the teen moms letting them be on T.V. They don’t show that the cons outweigh the pros.
We need to stop watching these pathetic shows and take a stand. All these shows do is encourage, exploit, and glamorize teen pregnancies. If we stopped watching them then their rating would drop and they would go off the air. Then none of these problems would exist.

Although reality TV is fascinating and full of drama, it still has an enormous effect on today’s youth. Throughout the years reality TV has become popular and it has attracted different age groups.
