Are You Ready For Football
Are You Ready For Some Football? The height of a punted football can be modeled with the quadratic function: h = -9.8t2 + 25t + 0.6 where t is the time since the ball was kicked and h is the height of the ball in meters.
Why is the coefficient of t2 -9.8 instead of -16?

What is the initial height of the ball?

What is the initial velocity of the ball?

What is the ball’s height when it has traveled 30 ft downfield?

Suppose a ball is thrown into the sky at a velocity of 64ft/sec from an initial height of 100ft. We would set the quadratic equation as (s)0=-gt^2+v0t+h0 and substitue values for gravity, velocity, and initial height to equal 0=-16t^2+64t+100. If we want to find out after how many seconds the ball will land, we can leave the equation set to zero and solve for t, using the quadratic formula. This will give us a solutions for t = SQRT(41)/2 (approximately 3.2 seconds) or t = -SQRT(41)/2 (approximately -3.2 seconds). Because we are only interested in positive values and negative values would not make any sense in this application, the ball will land after 3.2 seconds have passed, meaning that t = +3.2 seconds when the postion is at 0 or ground level; Position (3.2,0) on the…

Flag Football is a version of American or Canadian football. It is very popular worldwide. The basic rules of the game are similar to those of the mainstream game that is often called tackle football but instead of tackling players to the ground the defensive team must remove a flag or flag belt form the ball carrier “ de flagging” to end a down. Other rules are you can have a minimum of five players. No jewelry or things like that that would get in the way. All pads and braces must be worn above the waist. Bare feet are not allowed you must wear tennis shoes or rubber cleats. Cleats with metal are not okay if you do wear them you won’t be able to play. There are no set uniforms but you have to tuck in your shirt or jersey. You don’t need a ball or bat or racket of any kind to play this game. You just need flag belts. They are like a belt that you can clip or snap on to your body. They have flags hanging down that allow other players to pull off of you. They have to be visible to the other players. That is why their shirt has to be tucked in. Free kicks are not aloud in flag football only punting and it can not be quick punting that is not aloud either. Touchdowns are the biggest way to get points just like in American football. It gives the team six points. Each team is aloud two one minute time out period per half. The game can go from about one to two hours long. It is played all over the United States. There can be anywhere from as little of four to eleven or twelve players on each team. It is one of the only sports that can be played with both male and female on the field at one time. Or they can have their own games. The sport has a strong amateur following and several nation and international competitions each year sponsored by various associations and companies. People take it very seriously but the game is also played just for fun. There are also festivals such as the International Flag Football Festival organizes…

I hate football. I loathe it. I detest it and I despise it. It represents everything I hate in the world. It is a children’s game played by grown men, followed by millions and treated as a religion by all. It is a Sunday afternoon kick about in the park, high jacked by television and forced down the throats of everyone for 10 months of the year. People even call it ‘the beautiful game’. Beautiful? Art is beautiful. Music is beautiful. Football is 22 muppets, a round ball and a muddy pitch. It’s £45 quid a game and a 0-0 draw. It’s millions watching grown men being paid a gazillion pounds a second to kick a sphere around. It’s a pointless waste of time. The rise of football represents the end of civilization, the end of all that is good and holy and pure. There is only one cure: shoot football supporters.…

However, the effect of the air pressure varies depending on how much the ball is deflated.
