Approach Avoidance Conflict
An example of approach avoidance conflict – if a person had, for example been in the same job for many years, they may decide that it is time to look for a promotion. The thought of a promotion will lead to success, with a better salary and better job prospects may be extremely attractive to them. They may however experience a level of anxiety about the change, this may prevent them from going for that promotion that they want. This could follow a period of time where they have a few false starts to their plans before finally carrying them out or deciding that they are abandoning them altogether.
In our life the approach-avoidance conflicts the prove to be the most persuasive but difficult to resolve are likely to occur between these four
