Appearance Can Be Deceptive
APPEARANCES CAN BE DECEPTIVE 1. There is an old adage “all that glitters is not gold”.Gold is bright yellow metal and very valuable. But there are many worthless things looking equally bright yellow. We should not therefore, think that a thing is gold is simply because it is bright yellow. So, the proverb teaches us that we should not judge things by their outward appearances. 2. A person may be well dressed and may look a gentle man; but in reality he may be a cheater or a thief. A person looking ragged from outside may be a good person. In fact wicked men generally cheat others in these way. We may come across people who may proface to be our sincere friend, but really they may be false friends and may leave us in our troubles or lead us to ruin. Similar care is necessary in our judgement of things. 3. There is also an old adage ‘morning shows the day’,but some times every morning really does not show the day. On 26th December 2004 many people gathered along the beach of the sea to enjoy the sunny morning. But, alas, the Tsunami waves throughed into the beach and innumerable numbers of lives were lost. Did the sunny morning indicate such a devastation? Thus , even when nature can sometimes play tricks on us , human beings and other things can do it any time. So , we should never go by appearances. 4. A food sweet to the taste may be injurious to health. A food tastes bitter may be very useful for our health. So, what appears good to us can be harmful and what appears dangerous or bad, may be very good. Thus we should never judge the person or things by the appearances because-“APPEARANCES CAN BE

The first thing people see is the outward appearance of someone. It doesn’t always mean people act like how they dress necessarily, get to know a person and you’ll see what they’re really like. Someone might look lazy and not pay a lot of attention to their appearance, but they could be a diligent and intelligent person. Outward appearances should not affect the way the person is viewed on the inside. People also might act differently than someone else because of where they grew up and how they lived. “Human behavior is largely constrained by the rules that govern particular situations and environments. We are constantly obliged to behave in a particular way, or to avoid certain behaviors” (Burgess). That quote from the article, “Breaking the Rules,” explains the theme that you should get to know someone before you decide what to think of them, because not everyone is who they seem.…

“It is one of the commonest of mistakes to consider that the limit of our power of perception is also the limit of all there is to perceive.”(Leadbeater) Many people believe the way something is perceived, is always the way that it appears to be. In reality, there might be more to a person he is willing to show. If we assume that the way someone or something is seen is always as it appears to be, we would be lying to ourselves. A surplus of people are not exactly how they are seen to be. We should not judge someone too harshly as we may not have all of the facts or details of what is really happening to a person. Perceptions can override our abilities to correctly judge our peers and even ourselves, which can be very impactful.…

In these days, some societies judge people based on their class, if you are poor and act differently then they see you below them and if you are rich than you are more important and well recognized. In my opinion I agree with this that the author is saying, we all tend to judge and criticize people on how they dress or how they look, I have even found myself doing that and that is something worthy of being ashamed of. We shouldn’t judge people on their looks or their…
