This article discusses the attitudes of undergraduates towards the bank selection criteria and analysis the level of importance of several factors which influences the decision-making results for students in Malaysia. Consequently, it indicated that the concern of security is considered as the most important factor by students. It reflects a fact that the uncertainty of bank and account status has been taken into account by students. The ATM service follows the case of security as the result of students’ self-requirement for the convenient life and the personal experience. In addition, financial benefits rank at the third place in this survey, explained by the increasing knowledge in managing money of students. On the other hand, there are some factors, such as location and recommendation, which are regarded as important factors by previous studies being lack of attentions by the knowledgeable students who prefer to make decision independently here.

The result of the article has close link to this research. It provides a possible situation in the undergraduates by conducting the survey on the several factors including security, ATM service and locations, which may be crucial factors in this research as well. Furthermore, the different attitudes of students are clearly examined in statistics by using qualitative and quantitative methods. Although the sample of research is consisted of Mala, Chinese and Indian, the diversity between different nationalities is not mentioned in the discussion. Moreover, selecting sample from only one university may lead to a biased result, and the situation in Malaysia could be influenced by local customs, such as saving culture, which may be useless in other countries.

Haden makes an excellent case stating, “each division I university incorporate “laundry money” into the scholarships of all their student-athletes” (680). Haden’s views and proposed solution is very helpful for my topic because it has not appeared in any other text I have read.
