A human touch is put on the outcomes of the invasion.

Studies in Conflict & Terrorism, 16(2), 87-98. http://www.tandfonline.com Cogan speaks how 14 years after “The Bay of Pigs” laws were adopted for congress to oversee covert action by our government. This is only one way the invasion of the Bay of Pigs changed things in our government.

Political Quarterly, 82(3), 448-458. doi:10.1111/j.1467-923X.2011.02212.x Dunne tells the history leading to the invasion of Cuba by mercenaries and concludes with the impact that the Bay of Pigs had on relations between the U.S. Cuba and the Soviet Union.
Friedman, R.R. (2011). Crisis management at the dead center: The 1960-1961 presidential transition and the Bay of Pigs fiasco. Presidential Studies Quarterly, 41(2), 307-333. doi:10.1111/j.1741-5705.2011.03856.x Friedman makes an interesting correlation between times of presidential transitions and decisions that were made by these inexperienced presidents. He offers recommendations on how to improve future transitions especially those of national security.

Cold War History, 5(1), 23-53. doi:10.1080/1468274042000283135 Documents that have been declassified since 1997 are reviewed by Husain shedding light on the role of the U.S. and the policies that President Kennedy adopted to overt military action after the Bay of Pigs.
Huston, J. A. (1988). Fifteen great mistakes of the cold war. World Affairs, 151(1), 35 This article mentions as the title states 15 mistakes of the cold war one being the Bay of Pigs. Huston doesn’t categorically say the fiasco caused Kennedy to send troops to Vietnam but it is definitely a thought.
Jenkins, G. (2006). From Kennedy 's cold war to the war on terror. History Today, 56(6), 39-41. Jenkins draws parallels between the Bay of Pigs and the War on terror especially the increase of imperialism today.
Vandenbroucke, L. S. (1984). Anatomy of a failure: The decision to land at the Bay of Pigs. Political Science Quarterly, 99(3), 471-492. http://jstor.org/discover The author tests the concepts outlined in Graham T. Allison’s Essence of Decision: Exploring the Cuban Missile Crisis analyzing Kennedy’s “finest hour” and his “worst hour”. He discusses lessons learned.

This portion of Whitridge’s piece published in May of 1961 would therefore been written prior to the invasion. He is critical in his views on the U.S. eyeing for control of the island.

In the second of the series he is now aware of the invasion and carries a different tone. He is definitely more sympathetic to the U.S. These 2 articles are important to the paper to be written by my because of when they were written and demonstrates the views of a historian at the time
