Animals Should Not Be Kept in Zoos

Should animals be kept in Zoos? I believe that animals should be allowed to enjoy their
own natural habitat and live with their family freely, not trapped behind bars and cages. So no,
I do not agree that animals should be kept in zoos. Most people go to the zoo purely for
entertainment and I strongly believe that animals were not created for that purpose only. We
shouldn't put animals lower than us.
Zoos claim to educate people and preserve species, but they do not take their words
seriously. Most zoo enclosures are small and empty. We should respect animals. The signs
often provide inaccurate information and diets the animal have. People rarely discuss about
an animal's normal behavior, they do not really observe as their natural needs are seldom
met. A lot of animals in the zoo who are trapped in cages are taken out of their natural
environment and climate. These animals are forced to live in climates that they are not
adapted to or even capable of adapting. One example of this is a polar bear. Polar bears
are animals who are used to cold and icy temperatures and putting them in a place that is dry
and humid is a cruel thing to do. Animals will also lose their Animal instinct as they won't get
to hunt for their prey, breed or do social activities normally like they used to. Losing their
natural instinct causes them to suffer when they go back to the wild. Animals in zoo rely on
zoo-keepers to feed and take care of their daily needs so animals will get used to it gradually.
Whatever the good intentions of zoo-keepers, animals in zoos suffer. Animals suffer mental
torments. Aquatic animals do not have enough water, birds are prevented from flying away by
having their wings clipped and kept in aviaries. Imagine someone kidnapped you and
made you an exact replica of your own house. Wouldn't you get scared and confused? This is
why zoos cannot replicate wild animal
