Imagine, being an animal locked in a to small cage, poisoned with cancer, drugged, and wishing you were dead. Animals being tested on have all these bad things happening to them and much, much, more. Many products such as cosmetics, chemicals and even bath products are tested on animals. Sometimes it gets in their eyes and can harm them enough to make them lose hair or even their lives. On the other side of the debate, people will argue that people should be allowed to experiment on animals because it helps to know if they are safe. However, people should absolutely not be allowed to experiment on animals because it can be toxic, it may harm the animals but help humans, and many animals are unprotected by the AWA.

Critics often argue that product tested on animals will not help us if they harm animals. On the other hand so many of the products tested on animals will harm them and do good for humans. The article “Animal Testing is Outdated, Imperfect” Ryan Ballinger says, a life saving drug was almost shelved because it harmed animals (Ballinger, n.p). The point is that the drugs that can save the lives of humans and harm animals. In the article “To Win The War on Cancer Dishonorably Discharge Tests on Animals” Frances Cheng that, 95% of drugs deemed safe for animals but did not work on humans (Cheng, n.p). This means that most of the products tested on animals were safe for animals but were not safe for humans. A study from “To Win The War on Cancer Dishonorably Discharge Tests on Animals” Frances Cheng showed, that “they have cured mice of cancer for decades but it simply didn’t work on humans” (Cheng, n.p). The point of this is to say that they cured mice of cancer but it didn’t work on humans because humans and animals are different.
