Although, for the safety of people, makeup and drugs have been tested on animals. Many believe that animal testing should come to an end. Others, however, believe animal testing should continue to make sure the people who would use the makeup or drugs would be safe. Animal testing has been a problem that needs to come to a hold in many people’s eyes. On the other, hand they think animal testing has been going on this long, so it would be pointless to stop. Legal drugs, which made their way to public animals, kill approximately one hundred thousand people per year, and because more illegal drugs combined and cost the general public over one hundred thirty-six billion dollars in health care expenses (Greek). This amount of money could be saved if animal testing would come to a standstill. “The care and upkeep of primates other than chimpanzees are twenty to twenty-five dollars per day” (Conlee). The money would be more useful if it was not put towards animal testing where animal testing does not always work and is inconclusive. “The only U.S. law that governs the use of animals in laboratories – the Animal Welfare Act – allows animals to be burned, shocked, poisoned, isolated, starved, forcibly restrained, addicted to drugs, and brain-damaged (Berlatsky). This would be awful to do to a human, in fact, it is illegal. Then why should this be legal to do to animals when animals feel the same as a human. Undergoing animal testing and not doing anything about it is shameful. People know what happens to animals while this testing accrues but it needs to come to a standstill. The United States already puts too much money into this testing just for animals to be tortured. Because rats and mice are not protected by the law, experimenters do not have to provide them with pain relief (Berlatsky). The amount of money put into this animal testing for the results to not be what they wanted is shocking. The animal testing is cruel to animals and needs to be put under animal

Animal testing, also known as animal experimentation, or in vivo testing, often uses non-human animals in experiments to test the safety of products and has been a topic of heated debate for decades. Although some research uses animals only for natural behaviors observation, F. Barbara Orlans claimed in her book, In the Name of Science: Issues in Responsible Animal Experimentation, that more than sixty percent of all animals used in animal testing suffer from experiment procedure or even get killed in biomedical research and product-safety testing. On the one hand, successful animal testing can lead to medical cures and treatments for human beings, on the other hand, opponents are doubting the reliability of animal…

Though animal testing should be banned from ever being practiced or used again, people still view it as a necessity despite all of the evidence against it. Animal testing requires inhumane, unsanitary, unsafe, or cruel conditions that if done to humans would be outlawed since they either reduce the quality of life or cause disease or death. Seeing that animals are living, breathing creatures that want to survive just as much as people do, assuming that test conditions are not good for human kind, then they are not good for any living creatures. Furthermore, they are inherently wrong by nature. Tolerating animal cruelty promotes the same insensitivity that allows cruelty to people, such as serial killers and the early incidents of animal torture.…

An estimated 26 million animals are used every year in the United States fir various types of testing. These animals are used for scientific and commercial testing to develop medical treatments, determine toxicity of medications and chemicals, check the safety of products destined for human use and other biomedical or healthcare purposes. This testing on animals is cruel, inhumane and should be banned. It should be banned because the animals are held and live in inhumane conditions, it is harmful and at times lethal to the animals and there are other research method available that do not require animal testing.…

Right now, millions of mice, rats, rabbits, cats, dogs, and other animals are locked inside cold, barren cages in laboratories across the country. “For days they languish in pain, ache with loneliness and long to roam free and use their minds” (PETA). These animals come from a wide variety of places such as city pounds, zoos, commercial breeders, and even circuses. Did you know that around the world these animals are being used to test products ranging from shampoo to new cancer drugs? In fact almost every medical treatment that you use has been tested on animals. For instance, animals were used to develop anesthetics (AnimalPort). All they can do is sit and wait in fear of the next terrifying and painful procedure that will be performed on them. “The stress, sterility and boredom causes some animals to develop neurotic behaviors such incessantly spinning in circles, rocking back and forth and even pulling out their own hair and biting their own skin” (PETA). Believe it or not animal testing is not required by law, animal testing is only done to protect companies from consumer lawsuits (Zoomshare). Animal testing…

Dogs, cats, monkeys, mice, and other animals are kept in dark rooms in cages while being exposed to various toxic and poisonous substances daily in order to test how the substance may react in humans. Why should animals not have the same rights that humans do? Maybe because they cannot talk, read books, or drive cars, but neither can some humans for that matter. So why is it that when an experiment, which was conducted to help treat type 2 diabetes, killed 203 people, it was halted immediately, although millions of animals die each year due to scientific experimentation? The answer is that many believe that animals are worthless or are not worth as much as human beings are, so they are therefore dispensable. The problem with that is animals are living things just like humans. Therefore, like human beings, they understand fear and experience pain. They also feel excitement and happiness. So why should they be denied the same basic rights that humans have? The answer to that question is that they should not be. Animals deserve the same rights that humans have, so testing that jeopardizes animal life, and safety should come to a cease immediately in the same way that it would if the same testing were to be conducted on human beings.…

Animals have been used in research for countless numbers of years, dating back all the way to BCE. The number of animals in testing has grown as the years have passed, and their purpose has resulted in treatments for lung cancer, childhood leukemia, breast cancer, and many others. When most people think about animal science, they think about the cruelty and immoral treatment of animals; they do not bother to think about the side effects of animal testing. The medicine we buy or are prescribed, the lotions we use, and everyday makeup we wear would not be available without the use of animals in labs. With all the benefits that come with animal testing, one might ask why anyone would be opposed to animal testing. However, an article entitled “Ethics…

Animal testing is believed to help out the human race, but this idea can quickly be proven to do more wrong than right. Not to mention the inhumane procedures animals are forced to endure during the process. Does the human race really need new pesticides, chemicals, consumer products, drugs, etc. to risk animals lives and prive them from their liberty by testing on them? Despite the efforts to put an end to animal testing throughout the years and the approval of new alternative methods, animals continue to be used on toxical research and testing. Many are not even protected by the Animal Welfare Act. To put a definite end to animal testing, labs have to start using the other alternative methods more often and come up with new ideas throughout the years.
