Short Essay # 4
Angelology and Satanology
What is religious or ethnic dualism? It asserts that there are two mutually hostile forces or beings in the world, the one being the source of all good, the other the source of all evil. The difference between this and what the bible says about God and Satan is this the bible doesn’t clearly say Satan is the source of all evil and at the same time it does say that God is the source of all good. The Bible clearly a state that Satan was an angel of God in Isaiah 7 and then he rebelled against God so that alone shows that it’s a contradiction of religious dualism in the sense that Satan is not the source of all evil and in Ezekiel some theologians think that he was talking about the Kings of Babylon and Tyre when in reality he was talking about Satan. So both these passages refer to Satan’s past.
What are some common objections? Some say these passages fail to take into account the fact that these prophecies far transcend any earthly ruler and second it ignores the close connection Satan has in scripture with the government of the satanic world system, of which both ancient Babylon and Tyre were an inseparable part. How do I respond to that? I think that both passages are referring to Satan and his past. I believe these passages describe how he rebelled against God and the beginning of the consequences he would face.
Satan or the devil a high angelic creature who before the creation of the human race rebelled against the creator and became the chief antagonist of God and man. That statement alone shows that God didn’t create evil. Satan made a choice to rebel against God and do his own thing which caused other angels to follow him. Satan caused the fall of the human race as the “serpent”. What are Satan’s limitations? He is only a creature limited and permitted to have power by divine omnipotence and omniscience. He works in tempting and accusing men, ousted from the heavenlies and is to

    * Anti-Christ: Often seen in pop-culture as the son of Satan e.g. Rosemary's baby and the devils advocate, portrayal of the antichrist more in the New testament than the old testament due to Christ being involved. Paul's second letter (although its possible Paul did not write this) makes a reference to a "lawless one" or a son of destruction who will declare himself god. There are multiple references to a false-Christ, or false prophets but only one reference to a singular antichrist. Revelations dragon and beast, antichrist image bound to the serpent. The antichrist is a composite figure put together from all the images to form a single idea. Connected with the serpent and leviathan in the Hebrew bible…

On the most common level, you are taught that the biblical entity of “Satan” was not actually real, and you are actually worshipping a light God. A close friend of Anton LaVey’s, Susan Atkins, said in an interview, “Anton told me that as a Satanists he does believe in the God of the Bible but he refused to worship Him and made a conscious decision to worship Satan instead.” In the Church of Satan, there is a hierarchy. If you are on the first or second “level” of their hierarchy, which is the majority of followers, you are all taught the same principle the Satanic Church made up, and does not even believe themselves.…

While Satan’s humane emotions were demonstrated earlier in the narrative, his soliloquy further explicates the complexity of his thoughts. Throughout the first few books, Satan does not demonstrate any vulnerabilities. He is glorified as an obstinate and prideful Spirit who surpasses all others in Hell and who knows exactly what he yearns. Though Satan’s abilities are of no question, this one-sided view of Satan – that he is a competent and powerful devil – appears lacking; therefore, the demonstration of Satan’s vulnerability in his soliloquy is a progression in his character development. Satan finally senses “horror and doubt,” and is drenched in grief by his “remembrance from what state [he] fell” (4:17, 38-39). This is the first time Satan is described to have self-doubt, and specifically, in…

The bible tells the tale of the Devil as being an Angel that went his separate way and was exiled by God for his immorality. He is characterized as a supernatural being able to take any shape or form. He has strong powers of deception and uses them to tempt his victims. He is a sinful creature who longs for lust and will steal, kill, and destroy for pride. He is the fountain of evil and the source of all sins.…

Satan places his pride first and resists obedience to God, thereby taking the alternative that is also available to human beings. But by persisting in his perversion of free will, Satan's sin expands and develops consequences for the human race. His resistance amounts to a claim of autonomy--total self-creation--which, as Milton's readers…

When talking about religion you have to get an idea about the ideals and beliefs that religion carries. Satanism represents indulgence instead of abstinence and kindness shown to people who deserve it. It also represent vengeance instead of turning the other cheek when people do you wrong. In theistic satanism they believe that satan is an actual deity or force to revere or worship. While in LaVeyan Satanism is more of an atheistic. According to LaVey, neither God or Satan are actual beings. Instead, Satan is a symbol representing the qualities embraced by Satanists.…

Literary devices aside, there is a psychological phenomenon associated with Satan, Jesus, and the duality of the Bible. Elaine Pagel in her book, The Origin of Satan, notes that even ancient peoples may have believed that Satan was not the grand antagonist at large, but rather, "the most intimate enemy of all–the enemy we call our own self" (p. 173). This redaction of established beliefs in the time of ancients is both intriguing and enlightening, allowing the modern reader to further believe in Satan not as a flesh and blood devil, but as a reflection of the doubt in one 's…
