Angelo Buono Research Paper
The offenders that I decided to choose for this research paper are Kenneth Bianchi and Angelo Buono, otherwise known as the Hillside Stranglers. The Hillside Stranglers were a pair of serial killers who were responsible for the murders of at least a dozen women during the late 1970’s. Angelo Buono, was born in Rochester, New York, on October 5, 1934. Buono’s parents were both Italian immigrants who divorced well into Buono youth. After the divorce was finalized, Buono moved to Glendale, California with his mother Jenny and his sister Cecilia when he was five years old. Early on, Buono displayed a high interest in sex-- he even idolized the serial rapist Caryl Chessman, and even considered him a hero despite him not killing his victim. Throughout

There, Buono taught Bianchi how to use a fake police badge to extort free sex from prostitutes. Two years after Bianchi moved in with Buono, the two committed their first murder together. over the following three weeks, the duo killed two more women. Despite, the first three murders not receiving much attention, due to the victims being prostitutes, their fourth and fifth did. By the beginning 1978, the two of them had hilled a total of ten women together. Following the death of the 10th victim in February, the murders stopped, after Buono and Bianchi started having problems. Bianchi moved to Washington and later became a security guard after having his application denied by the Bellingham Police department. However, Bianchi could not contain his murderous impulses and killed two college students. After the murder, a witness who had seen the two girls with Bianchi came forward and the case was solved. During the trial, Bianchi claimed to have multiple personalities, confessed to the Hillside Strangler murders, and even testified against his cousin to avoid the death penalty.
