Angela Merkel Beatitude Examples
Angela Merkel has had many examples of living out the Beatitudes during her life. For example, Merkel has practiced the Beatitude about being persecuted for the sake of righteousness. Merkel was called horrible names by Donald Trump and German protesters, but she ignored them and continued to help Europe during a time of debt and bankruptcy. In addition, she practiced the beatitude about keeping peace. According to the article, “Merkel brandished a different set of values—humanity, generosity, tolerance—to demonstrate how Germany’s great strength could be used to save, rather than destroy.” Not only did Merkel try to help the country become a more peaceful place, but she did this in a peaceful and effective way.

A leader is someone who inspires people, who can be clutch as a forerunner to get started on a way of thinking; or sometimes a leader is the fearless one who steps in a place no one has dared to and when they do, they do so without remorse. A leader doesn’t look back at what has passed, but instead looks ahead at what’s to come. A leader is honest, caring and has integrity. A leader confronts challenges and does not let the voice of haters or malicious people bring them down. A great leader, not just a leader can do all of these things and when they are pushed down they can get back up and keep going like no one has touched them. A leader, who fits this description in my eyes, is Sarah Palin.…

Murder, treason, and deceit are common themes in William Shakespeare’s tragedy Hamlet. Throughout the play the women are often viewed as weak in character as the men easily dominate them and steal the spotlight through their manic actions. The time period in which Shakespeare would have written Hamlet, women would have been treated with little respect. One woman that shows her feminine power is Gertrude, the Queen of Denmark and mother to Hamlet. Through the play it seems that Gertrude has committed more bad deeds than good, but with further examination, her actions can be seen as altruistic and loving. Queen Gertrude in Hamlet reveals her true strength through her selfless actions for both Hamlet and Denmark.…

Delivered through video to the Fourth World Conference on Women, Suu Kyi’s Keynote Address aimed to promote democratic freedom for women both in Burma and worldwide. Put under house arrest by the Burmese government for posing a threat to their regime’s stability, Suu Kyi demonstrated incredible courage in simply delivering the speech despite the potential backlash. However, Suu Kyi does not simply leave it to circumstance to prove her courage, and maintains a strong sense of ethics throughout her feminist crusade within the first sentence, she describes her task as “wonderful but daunting”. She continues to fill her speech with a soft sense of humour and optimism while addressing this “greatest concourse of women (joined by a few brave men!)”, and her attitude underlies her strength of character in dealing with such a “daunting” issue.…
