In her diary, she wrote “I suffer now----and suffered then---- from moods which kept my head under water (so to speak) and only allowed me to see things subjectively...” This shows Anne realizing that she made big past mistakes by having bad moods. I can see why she would say that, because earlier on in the book you can see her getting mad for no apparent reason, besides just her being greedy.…

She shows her positivity when she wrote in her diary, “I don't think I'll ever feel at home in this house, but that doesn't mean I hate it. It's more like being on vacation in some strange pension. Kind of an odd way to look at life in hiding, but that's how things are.” (Frak par. 18). She enjoys learning about herself through writing. Since with writing she can express how she feels about the things that surround her. She says in her essay “I’m discovering what it is to walk on spongy autumn leaves and to watch snow drifting up in a strong wind”(37). I understand her because I came from Ecuador where it is mostly sunny and rainy to a place where I also saw snow for the first time. I believe we all go through changes in our lives, and it would be nice to write down my own feelings towards these changes.…
