Analysis: The Man Who Survived Flight By Tornado
The Man Who Survived Flight By Tornado

In the year of 2006, a 19-year-old named Matt Suter was in his grandmother's trailer home when the weather became very rough. In an attempt to protect himself from the storm, Suter was just standing on the sofa and trying to close the living room window. Suddenly, things got very crazy. The noise became unbearable. The floor of the trailer started to "move just like Jell-O."

A huge force hit the trailer, tearing down the doors from their hinges and overall, just wrecking everything. Furniture flew around the trailer, and smacking into Suter. At this point, it was clear that the storm was a tornado. This became even clearer when Suter was sucked out of the trailer through a broken wall. Shortly after

Personal Response: I really liked the book </>I Survived The Hindenburg Disaster by Lauren Tarshis. I enjoyed the part where Hugo had to protect his friend who was a U.S. spy. He had to distract him so the spy could get away. The reason Hugo was in an area he wasn't supposed to be was because he was trying to get his sister's dog for her because she had malaria. There was an evil looking man that caught him and asked why he was in that restricted area. He froze in place and didn't know what to say, but the spy still managed to get away and Hugo got his dog for his sister. I also liked the part where one of the ship members threw Hugo out the window to save him from the crash.…

On Friday morning Craig Donaldson saw on the news that Hurricane Katrina had moved into the Gulf, heading in their direction. Craig and Alice, his wife contemplated leaving the following day or the day after for Oxford, Mississippi. Saturday morning started out rocky. Malcolm, their son, woke up with a burning fever. With all of this going on Craig prepared for their evacuation by getting the house in order before Katrina hit on Sunday. Around mid-day they decided to get on the road; unfortunately, the highway was backed up. Craig then decided to take a different route on a two-lane highway; traffic flowed at first but that too got backed up. Due to the extensive amount of traffic and the effects of the storm, they stopped at a hotel. They had wanted to stay with Alice’s parents but there were too many complications of not having enough room space, so her mom says. They waited at the hotel until the weather was clear enough for them to continue driving.…

    Old Beat Up Van Narrative

    • 323 Words

The poignant feeling of anticipation and excitement enthused us as we piled into Grandpa’s old beat up van. A sense of invincibility enveloped us as we started our twelve hour trek to Branson, Missouri. This serenity soon shattered when Luke began to throw up all over my seat. I sat horrified, trapped by the luggage in front of me. “Stop the van!” I screamed. Covered in bright pink Double Bubble puke, I bolted from the vehicle. I had tried to warn Luke earlier, but he did not listen. As the twentieth piece entered his mouth, my predictions turned into reality. After the ordeal, we cleaned up, loaded into the van, and started our journey once again.…

Vonnegut’s use of tornadoes rather than any other force of nature serves as a metaphor for cleaning up the mess that man has made. I think it coincides with the theme of human stupidity and carelessness throughout the book and that Vonnegut chose tornadoes to show God’s roll. There was no other weather change in the entire book except for the tornadoes. There was no snow, rain or hail. He never made a single comment about the sun, but found it important to include a tornado, multiple tornadoes at that, something that man cannot create. Tornadoes are an act of God.…

The tornado that happened in Dupree occurred in June of the year 2010. It was a regular day, the wind was blowing, there were lots of rain coming down, and it was cloudy. Well that was what we thought, because there was no tornadoes that happened in Dupree for a long time. Before my family and I got a chance to make even dinner, the first tornado whistle came on. My family and I went in the truck to see where it was or see if we could spot a tornado. After scouting for a bit, we took off and went back home getting ready in case the tornado actually did touch the ground and make it toward town. If I remember right, I think it was after the third whistle went off and that was when the first tornado was seen coming closer into town. That’s when…

    Twister Essay

Here are some ways how science is misused in the movie Twister. In a real twister, air and debris goes in toward the twister not out. Debris, 18-wheel oil trucks, farm equipment, cows and houses being flung away in not possible. Tornadoes do wander and alter their path and change in intensity, but they don't go back and forth across roads and take sudden U-turns or drop out of sunny windless skies. Lightning and thunder don't flash and crash at the same time. Lightning is seen before thunder is heard so this is definitely not possible. Like I said earlier there is no way that a truck can come out of an explosion absolutely fine. In real life the paint on the truck would come off and the truck would be absolutely destroyed and have scratches on it but in the movie it came out absolutely new.…
