Analysis Of Who Does The Talking Here By Deborah Tannen
“Who does the talking here” by Deborah Tanner (July 15, 2007) asserts that one cannot simply count words of men and women alone, to determine who speaks more. Tanner reviewed studies of many others to support her theory that many other factors play a role in who talks more, for example, a study by Marjorie Swaker revealed that men spoke more than women during a large conference. “Can we learn who talks more by counting words” Tannen proposed that counting words appears not to solve the question of who talks more, by itself alone.
