1.3.3- Two-hour postprandial test (two-hour PPG): Two hour postprandial test is one of the tests that are used for the diagnosis of diabetes mellitus; it’s also known as; glucose test, two-hour postprandial blood sugar test, and postprandial test. It’s used in order to check for diabetes, to evaluate the effectiveness of medication or dietary therapy in those already diagnosed with diabetes, and also to confirm the fasting plasma glucose test results. If the person has diabetes, then, her/his body doesn’t make sufficient amounts of insulin so as to keep the blood glucose levels within the normal levels. If the blood glucose levels are too high, they can lead to serious and devastating consequences such as eye and nerve damage.
