Analysis Of Neil And Riku's Evening Concerts
It was late, yet Neil and Riku decided to sit in on of the last performer of those Evening Concerts of students trying to adjust to the environment and dispose any fear of their audiences. The last performer was a sweet young woman who was obviously uncertain about this environment.
I know that feeling, he said to himself.
She chose to play Mozart's B--flat major (K378) Sonata for piano and violin. Neil liked the choice and sat back hopefully. She played the first movement 'Allegro moderato' beautifully, yet her facial response to the music was serious, and by the end of that movement, she was apparently unhappy.
Why?

"Too complicated."
"Horse shit, that's evasive." He walks over and puts his arm around her shoulders. Riku puzzled, moves a few steps back and folds his arms. "No, don't tell me . . . let's go back in the theatre. Do you have the full score of the work?"
She nodded, and reached into her brief case, producing the music. They went in, down the aisle and up onto the stage. Someone back stage came out and obviously was going to deter them. Neil held up his hand making that-someone go back out of sight.
Neil took the music and put it on the piano rest and turned to the second movement. He signaled for Stephanie to take out her violin. He sounded the 'A' and began playing a short practice run, then signaled Stephanie to begin. She fumbled and they started again. It was better than at the performance, but . . .
" Stephanie, are you in love, but he has changed his mind about you?"
"How dare you . . ." She starts to walk away.
"OK, smack me. Do you not want to be a musician or specifically a violinist? If you ask me, you are a terrific violinist, but something inside of you wants to tell the world you wish to be something else. Now I have you angry. So, Lets play it using that
