a. I was captivated and drawn in by Jill Bolte Taylor’s speech within seconds of her message. She effectively grabbed my attention through her narration, her personal story, and thought-provoking questions, that she was asking for herself. Within seconds, she pulled me in by relating the speech towards herself, to her career, her brother’s mental illness, she was planting a seed of curiosity to the audience. For Example: “I wanted to understand why is it that I can take my dreams, I can connect them to my reality, and I can make my dreams come true. What is it about my brother’s brain and his schizophrenia that he connects his dreams to a common and shared reality so they instead become delusions” I was then asking the question why is it?
