An Unfortunate day
Today was the most unfortunate day in my life. How could these bad things happen to me all the time?
The incident happened in the morning. Karl gave Ned and mearideinhiscartothebank. Ihadtodropbytogetsome money. When we arrived at the bank, I went straight to the counter. Just as I finished everything at the counter, two men wearing masks entered the bank. To my astonishment, a woman screamed and BANG, a guard fell on the floor. He was covered with blood from the waist down.
All the customers were scared and one of the robbers yelled, “Freeze, or I will shoot every one of you.” We had no choice but to follow the robber’s order. We all sat on the floor, waiting for the next instruction. Ned was petrified. His face was white as snow. He was sweating and asked, “ What’s going on?” I condemned, “Shut up, you idiot.”
The other robber, with long hair covering his ears and collar pointed a gun at the tellers and told them to stuff all the money into his bag. His partner pushed all the other staff to a corner at the far end.
Suddenly, Karl stood up because the robbers were heading to a car outside the bank. It was Karl’s car. Karl went purple with rage. He tried to stop the robbers but the long haired guy pushed him against the wall. They started punching each other. Karl scuffled with the robber. Suddenly, the robber took out his gun and shot Karl in his leg.
Finally, the robbers escaped with their grey canvas bag full of money.
It was really a terrible day. We all ended up in the police station! I hope such a thing would not happen to me

As the movie opens, we see Karl seated in a chair, looking out of the window of the dayroom of the hospital. Another patient, Charles Bushman, has drawn a chair over to Karl’s side, and is regaling him with sexually explicit stories. Watching Karl’s face, the audience can see how embarrassed and uncomfortable these stories are making Karl. One senses that this scene has been played out repeatedly. The hospital administrator rescues Karl by taking him to meet with a young high school girl, who wishes to interview Karl about his pending release. Karl is so shy and introverted that he must meet with her in a darkened room, lit only by a table lamp. She is not allowed to talk to him; only he can relate to her whatever he wants to say. Through his recital, we learn that Karl was considered “slow” as a child. All of the town’s children made fun of him. He relates to her the story of Jesse Dexter, who was very cruel to him as a child, and who harassed the young girls in town. He witnessed Jesse Dexter having sex with his mother. He became so angry that he picked up a sling blade (similar to a scythe) and hit Jesse in the head with it, practically decapitating him. When his mother yelled at him for what he had done, he realized that she was as bad as Jesse was, and he killed her, too. All of this is…

The car screamed to a halt, four men wearing masks jumped out and ran into the nearest building, I looked around. The street was deserted except for me. The plan was working; and it was not the first time that I went on a mission like this. We planned these robberies in sparse, quiet neighborhoods that did not have many people, stores, or emergency response teams. Together, the five of us made up a team that is sweeping the nation. We rob the most unsuspecting stores, which do not have security cameras or money vaults. We find that these stores surprisingly have the most money in their registers.…
