An Inconvenient Truth

Al Gore presented in his documentary “An Inconvenient Truth,” problems that are occurring in earth’s climate. He educates people about global warming. He shows how human have contributed into climate problems. Al Gore also talks about how to cut down the negative effects we have on our planet. Global warming is the average increase in the earth’s atmospheric temperature that causes changes in earths climate. There are skeptics about global warming, but Al Gore showed convincing statistics of carbon dioxide and annual temperature. He showed that when the carbon dioxide level would increase or decrease the annual temperature would correspond. It showed that in such a recent time carbon dioxide levels have increased greatly, and that the temperature has been increasing now more than ever since the last ice age. Carbon dioxide plays a big part in climate change because green house gasses are largely made up of carbon dioxide. When the sun emits rays to earth, the rays bounce on earths surface then back to space because of a thin atmosphere. Except higher carbon dioxide emissions produces thicker green house gasses that forms a thicker atmosphere, trapping more of the suns rays. A few of the suns rays staying in the atmosphere is fine because it keeps the earth warm, but when theres a build up of rays the earths temperature starts to increase higher than normal. There can be many problems that follow an increase in earths temperature. As Mr. Gore said, the glaciers have been melting which if enough melts can raise water levels. Water levels rising can make below sea level cities go underwater. Lakes, have been evaporating, snowy mountains have are melting and this has all occurred through climate change. There are ways to fight global warming. Cars are a great carbon dioxide contributor. Al Gore showed that countries have carbon dioxide emission regulations on motor vehicles. Increasing those regulations would decrease CO2 emissions greatly. On a personal level. An individual can recycle, use less energy and be more water conserving. They could do anything thing to pollute less and not harm the planet. “An Inconvenient Truth” is an important documentary. Global warming is a very likely theory and has negative consequences. It doesn't have to end bad, governments have recognized the issue and if every individual does his or her part this could change for the better.

Many people questioned Al Gore’s motives for making the documentary An Inconvenient Truth. They wondered whether he created it because he truly cared about the effects global warming would have on the earth or if he just wanted to make himself seem like a better presidential candidate than his opponents. Throughout the documentary Gore presented many facts and statistics that supported his concern, which created the logos for his argument. He also treated the documentary as more of a lecture or presentation for his audience which gave him the credibility that he needed to create the ethos throughout the film. Finally, he used his own personal experiences to appeal to the audience’s feelings and emotions, creating the pathos. In An Inconvenient Truth, Al Gore wants to reach a large audience, particularly nonscientists, to stress the urgency in responding to global warming.…
