An Analysis Of The Beatles 'I Saw Her Standing There'
“I Saw Her Standing There” by The Beatles is the perfect description of Romeo’s first encounter with Juliet. The song illustrates a scene in which a girl and a boy meet at a party, fall in love almost immediately, and subsequently make an unvoiced pledge to never leave each other for someone else. Like the characters in the song, Romeo and Juliet both meet at a party (which is being hosted by the Capulets). As soon as Romeo lays eyes on Juliet, he completely abandons his relationship with Rosaline in order to pursue her. This is not a difficult task, as Juliet is at the same time entirely smitten with him! Although both soon discover that the other is a member of the opposing house, this information does nothing to diminish the passion of their

“Revolution”, the single version, was recorded in the studio in July 1968. Originally, The Beatles recorded “Revolution” as a combination of “Revolution 1” and “Revolution 9”, written by John Lennon, for the White Album that was released later that year. Eventually, “Revolution 1” and “Revolution 9” were split into two tracks. “Revolution 1” was suppose to be the next single from the group. However, McCartney and Harrison had objections to the track for it’s tempo was too slow to be a single. After some objection from Lennon, they re-recorded the track at a moderate tempo and with heavily distorted electric guitars. The song became a raw, raucous, and feverous rock single. This outspoken and feverish single stands as one of Lennon’s first…

Romeo and Juliet, a play written by William Shakespeare, is about Romeo, a passionate young man that tends to act hastily and rashly. Friar Lawerence advises him to behave more moderately to avoid danger and mistakes. Yet Romeo does not listen. There are many times throughout the play where Romeo could have avoided a bad situation if he had only listened to the Friar. Romeo falls in love with Juliet Capulet, a member of the rivaling family, and Romeo decides to marry her within 24 hours of meeting her without consulting with anyone. This is not the first time Romeo has fallen in love so quickly. Before Juliet, he was in love with a girl name Rosaline but he quickly changes his mind when he meets Juliet. Romeo's hastiness and emotional unstability will affect him negatively and lead to his demise.…

Romeo decides to go Capulet’s party in an impulsive decision, eventually leading to a change of mind in who he loves. At the beginning of the play, Romeo gossips about how strong his love for Rosaline is. Romeo gushes, “One fairer than my love? The all-seeing sun / Ne’er saw her match since first the world begun” (I.3.99-100). Romeo is deeply in love with Rosaline at the beginning of the play, but that all changes when he meets Juliet. As soon as he sees Juliet, he says, “Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight, / For I ne’er saw true beauty till this night” (I.5.59-60). Romeo goes from being head-over-heels for Rosaline to being deeply in love with Juliet, all in just one night. Romeo is stunned by Juliet’s beauty and instantly makes the choice to pursue her. Romeo quickly falls in love with Juliet and decides to…

He becomes downhearted because he [thought he] knew that Rosaline was the wife for him, but as she decided to become a nun, she cannot marry. Although Romeo attends the Capulet's feast in scene 5 only because he knows Rosaline will be there, his deep feelings of intense romance and compassion for her are soon shifted to another woman. Romeo experiences what he considers to be ‘love at first sight' when he notices Juliet from across the room: "Beauty too rich for use, for earth too dear…Did not my heart love till now? (Act 1, sc. 5, Ln.54, 59)." At almost an instance, Romeo forgets about his hopes too see Rosaline, and instead sets his sights on getting to know Juliet. Although at first thought his actions would most likely be considered ‘fickle', Romeo's confessions that he may not have loved until seeing her makes it apparent that (at least to him) Romeo's feelings for Juliet are far more heart-felt.…

Instead of being shocked by Romeo’s quick advances, she accepts them as the romantic gestures they are meant to be. She follows along with Romeo’s part of the sonnet they form while dancing, and she kisses him. As Romeo departs the party and Juliet learns of his name, heritage, and background, she says, “My only love, sprung from my only hate!” This excerpt further shows the extent of Juliet’s newfound love for Romeo. This love has sprung from a few short moments spent together on the dance floor. Two forbidden lovers both fell in love at the first sight of each other, and that limited time caused much pain and grief for the both of them as well as their families.…
