Ammonga Mission Research Paper
I gladly accept my call to serve in the California Rancho Cucamonga Mission. I have been super excited thinking about where I will go to serve and teach the gospel. Thoughts have been running through my mind about how my friends and I have received our mission calls in the past couple of weeks and the similarity of the sons of Mosiah in the beginning of their missionary years. A good righteous group of friends going to serve the people and bring them unto Christ. Thinking about the idea of serving and wanting to be an excellent missionary like Ammon and the other sons of Mosiah has made my heart leap for joy. The scripture Mosiah 28:3 has been running through my head as well (3) Now they were desirous that salvation should be declared

We will look at God’s word to see how the Old Testament as well as the New Testament views missions. We will also look at how the nature of God relates to missions. We will identify two key themes or motifs of mission theology and finally, we will address how mission theology relates to (1) a missionary (2) church leaders (3) lay people not in full-time…

In his book Share Jesus Without Fear, William Fay lays out an easy and attainable way for one to reach people for Christ. A former mobster, and prostitution house owner, Fay says that if “God can take somebody like me and change him, he can take anybody in your life and change him as well.”1 In an easy to understand, comprehensive way, Fay shows how to overcome your fears and witness to those who are lost. By breaking down the six most common excuses one uses not to evangelize, he shows how to overcome the roadblocks that we place on ourselves. For instance, one of the fears he addresses is the fear of rejection. Fay points out that one must realize that this is not a contest. He says, “success is sharing your faith and living your life for Jesus Christ. It has nothing to do with bringing anyone to the Lord.”2 He goes on to say that it takes someone 7.6 times of hearing the Gospel before they give their lives to Christ. Just because you may have been the 3rd, does not mean that it didn’t make a difference. Throughout the book Fay lays out questions to ask, verses to go to, and objections that you will encounter, to lay out a way for you to share your faith with others without excuse.…

Now days, we consider the Missionary Training Center to be a form of Exodus. The righteous missionaries of the church leave the comfort of their homes, friends, and also family to obey the Lord and follow his commandment to spread the gospel throughout the earth. God uses the righteous young men and young women of his church to teach the world about his work and glory, which is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man as stated in Moses 1:39. The only way to receive immortality and eternal life is through Jesus Christ. The righteous missionaries, whom are part of the Exodus Pattern, are using the atonement and following the commandments of the Lord. These missionaries and their families are abundantly blessed with the Pattern of Bountiful because of their willingness to serve the…

I felt that this was God's calling to follow my childhood passion, but unfortunately it has not worked out the way I had planned or thought. I have tried to make my time here a mission that God has instilled in me and to remain positive among all negative situations, but it has not been easy. The school I work at has many problems within the administration and staffing and it is far from a safe situation to be in. I left my family and all I knew to perform this position and am extremely disappointed of what has come in it, but know that God has a plan through all I do. I miss and crave the servant lifestyle and youth ministry greatly. I have tried finding weekend services and churches to go to, while here, but nothing has worked out, partially to the fact that my time is all put in to my job. Serving in TC was the time of my life, in each ministry- Teens, Kids, Hospitality, Baptism, Care-Kids, and Groups- Assistant Leader. I long for it, and hope to come back to…

One of the greatest privileges of the Christian life is to go and proclaim the gospel to every nation, tribe, and tongue (Rev. 7:9). It is the task and duty of every believer to share Christ. When Jesus gave the Great Commission to the disciples, He said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations” (Matt. 28:19). The task of sharing the gospel can be done in one’s own community, workplace, or with family. However, in order to fulfill the Great Commission, Christians must go to every nation, tribe, and tongue to fulfill the task of reaching the world for Christ.…

The Jesus Creed has really helped me to look at Scripture from what I believe is a more biblical and Jesus centered perspective. While I have read the words Jesus used from Deuteronomy 6:4-9 and Leviticus 19:18 many times in Scripture, I never considered how all His teachings might have stemmed from them. I did not know Jesus had amended the Shema of Judaism because I didn’t know there was a Shema before reading this book, but now knowing this I can more clearly see what Jesus was doing. He was correcting a misunderstanding how some used and understood the Torah. Most paid excellent attention to the letter of the Law; however they had failed to grasp the message that God had called them to partake in His redemptive mission. Just as the Israelites got tangled up with the letter of the Law and missed their calling, are we as the Church today also failing to answer the same call? I believe it’s far too easy to make a case that we are, especially in America. Jesus redefines what it means to love God, instead of showing love to God by observing the Torah, Jesus calls people to follow Him, and in doing so He equates loving God to having a personal relationship with Himself thereby amending the Shema, making it personal. Next, He adds to the Shema by using a Leviticus passage saying “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love of God and love of others is the core of Jesus’ Shema and loving God means following Jesus. McKnight believes the Jesus Creed is the foundation of everything Jesus teaches about spiritual formation and after having read his book I have to say I agree. Everything Jesus does is out of love for God and for others as illustrated time and time again throughout the Gospels.…
