EXP 1 - .STUDY OF MICROWAVE SYSTEM AND COMPONENTS AIM: To study the Microwave system and components. MICROWAVE SYSTEM: A Microwave system normally consists of Transmitter subsystems including a microwave oscillator wave guide and a terminating antenna and a receiver subsystem that includes a receiving antenna transmission line or wave guides, A microwave amplifier and a receiver . MICROWAVE SYSTEM:

MICROWAVE COMPONENTS: WAVE GUIDE TEES: Wave guide Tees may consists of the E-Plane Tee, H-Plane Tee, magic Tee, Hybrid rings, Comers bend and Twists. E-Plane Tee: (Series Tee) An E-Plane Tee is a waveguide lies in which the axis of its side arm is parallel to the E Field of the main guide as shown in figure. When the waves are fed into the side arm(port3) the waves appearing at port1 and port2 of the collinear arm will be in opposite phase and to same magnitude.

H-Plane Tee(Shunt Tee): A H-Plane Tee in a wave guide Tee in which the axis of its side arm is shunting the E-Field or Parallel to the H-Field of the main guide as shown in figure. It can be seen that if two input waves are fed into port1 and port2 of the collinear arm, The output wave at port2 the wave split equally into port1 and port2 in phase and in same magnitude.

Magic Tee(Hybrid Tee): A Magic Tee is a combination of the E-plane Tee and H-Plane Tee. The magic Tee has several characteristics: 1. If two waves of equal magnitudes and the same phases are fed into port1 and port 2, the output will be zero at

    Stubs and Its Types

In microwave and radio-frequency engineering, a stub is a length of transmission line or waveguide that is connected at one end only. The free end of the stub is either left open-circuit or (especially in the case of waveguides) short-circuited. Neglecting transmission line losses, the input impedance of the stub is purely reactive; either capacitive or inductive, depending on the electrical length of the stub, and on whether it is open or short circuit. Stubs may thus be considered to be frequency-dependent capacitors and frequency-dependent inductors. Because stubs take on reactive properties as a function of their electrical length, stubs are most common in UHF or microwave circuits where the line lengths are more manageable. Stubs are commonly used in antenna impedance matching circuits and frequency selective filters. Smith charts can also be used to determine what length line to use to obtain a desired reactance.…

Answer Durable goods are those which are used for a longer period of time. It does not wear out very quickly and works for a longer period of time. For example, television set is a durable good because it is used for a longer period of time and does not last very quickly. One the most important problem in determining the demand for television set arises from the fact that sale of television creates secondhand market not controlled by the original seller. This creates problem in the estimating the real demand for television set because the transaction in secondary market often get unreported. The second problem associated with the determination of demand for durable goods is uncertainty regarding product replacement time i.e. the time gap after which the consumer would look for new television set. Firms are not able to analysis when the consumer would look to purchase the new television set since television are often used for longer period of time, so firms cannot determine the exact product replacement. This makes estimation of demand for television set very difficult. The third problem could be uncertainty regarding consumer preferences. Firms do not know whether consumers attach more value to price or to quality or to features. There is always a kind of dilemma between price and quality (or features). If the product is of high quality and features, it is likely to carry high price. Now if consumers attach more value to price, they are likely to purchase a product with fewer features because it would less costly to them. However, these things are not know to the firms producing durable goods and it creates problem in determining the demand for a durable good. Y, dXiJ(x( I_TS 1EZBmU/xYy5g/GMGeD3Vqq8K)fw9…
