In the beginning of “The Kite Runner” Amir was just a regular boy who lives with his father, Baba after the passing of his mother. He is very jealous of the attention that his father givers to Hassan because Hassan is more of the type of son that Baba wants. Thus Amir and Hassan have a very rough friendship, but Hassan always forgives Amir after he tries to frame him or take advantage of him. When war rages Baba and Amir flee to the United States leaving behind Hassan. After Amir reaches adulthood, he becomes a successful writer. However, the betrayal and treatment of Hassan still lingers in his mind. He cannot bare the burden of his action and eventually goes back to Afghanistan to make things write with Hassan. .
