America's Gift To My Generation
America’s gift to my generation is Technology because we have computers. That let us write essays, go to college, and communicate with someone and actually see them. They also let us run companies or corporation .We can also keep track of money and order things you can’t or don't want to go to the store to buy. Technology is a gift to my generation because we have made phones that we can carry around. Because back in the day phones used to be so big you that needed a backpack to take it with you. Phones are so small today we can carry them in our pockets and i’m pretty sure they have saved many lives.Other than being so huge you can’t carry it also the people who make them make a lot of money maybe you’ll consider making phones

Technology has replaced what was once common for people to engage in, such as manually washing clothes and dishes, face-to-face communication, and using candle powered light. People of the United States feel compelled to possess all kinds of technology so as to make their lives more convenient. Having a smartphone is now viewed as a necessity, and something that people assume everyone owns. Even in schools those who do not have smartphones are somewhat outcasts when a teacher asks the whole class to pull out their phones. Part of the American Dream is materialistic—owning the finest of things, such as the best technological devices. The conformity of United States citizens since World War II to seek materialistic pursuits has given technology power over the lifestyles of Americans. Nowadays people cannot live without their technological devices, they have become weak and dependent upon technology, consequently giving it all the power over them and the American lifestyle. Without technology, people are unable to do the most colloquial of tasks, such as using a dictionary to look up a word, travelling without the luxuries of a car or airplane, and not rely on running water. By conforming to society’s materialistic goal of acquiring the best technological gadgets, Americans have given technology complete power over their selves and would not be able to function without…

Technology like any other resource has its limitations. Individuals, such as college students are one of the main reasons for materialism. A problem with society that has lingered for years is the distinction people cannot make between a need and a want. Now, in the twenty first century, many items are considered a need but weren’t before and that is because as society keeps evolving, people only worry about the latest and greatest thing. The American society is misplacing values into materialistic items and no longer in family traditions or human interactions. In the chapter , “Community and Diversity”, from Rebekah Nathan’s book, she discusses the concept of materialism and the evolvement of technology and how people all have their own devices and no longer need to share with others. She displays throughout her text of the impacts of materialism. “Small Change” by Malcolm Gladwell starts off by discussing the influence that social media has on activism in modern…

As Joe Barton once said, “Our flag honors those who have fought to protect it, and is a reminder of the sacrifice of our nation’s founders heros.” Our flag is not to be knelt upon, but to stand as one together, remembering how Veterans risked their lives everyday to go to war and give us freedom today. The least we can do is to thank you. You gave me a future, freedom of speech, and an education, and so many more things.…

America’s Gift to My Generation John Quincy Adams once said, “You will never know how much it has cost my generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it.” I believe what he is trying to explain is that our freedom’s price was far too costly for it not to be taken advantage of. His quote provided a sufficient amount of evidence for me to prove that freedom is a very generous gift from America.…

Do you know when our national anthem first came to be the official anthem of the United States of America? The anthem was written by Francis Scott Key and became the official American anthem on March 3, 1931. America's gift to my generation is freedom of expression. America’s Gift to my Generation is safety. For years our country has been threatened by outside forces. Without the military that America has and has had I would not live in the safe country I do today. I feel especially patriotic towards the military because my grandfather fought and was shot in the Vietnam war. The fact that he could have died for not just the sake of the people who were back in America at the time but for my generation’s safety. Not only has America ensured safety for it’s own people but it has stepped into keep other countries as safe as ours. An example of this would be when the U.S entered WW1 and WW2 to fight alongside the allies to defend Europe. This, in my opinion, is the perfect example of bravery and sacrifice.…
