OPINION Well, at first I thought, Ted Bundy would offer a lot of material especially forensics…then it turned out his case really offered frustration and a bite mark. Along with the lack of evidence linking Bundy to cases, there was a lack of scholarly resources to be found. I was able to find some resources, but the most prevalent one used was Stranger Beside Me by Ann Rule, who was a long time friend of Bundy.…
Bundy’s first arrest was in 1975 when the police tried to stop him for a driving violation. Instead of just stopping his car, he tried to get away by turning his car lights off and speeding through stop signs. When they finally got to him, they searched his car, because he was said to be suspicious. When they searched his car they found hand cuffs, an ice pick, a crowbar, pantyhose with holes for his eyes, along with other suspicious items. The front side of Bundy’s passenger side was also missing, they later arrested Ted on suspicion of burglary. After this Bundy was arrested many more times. For instance, he was arrested for the for the kidnapping of DaRonch, because she described things she saw in her kidnapper’s car and it was a match…
Theodore Robert Cowell was born in a Vermont home on 24 November 1946. . He was raised in a middle class family environment. His mother was a department store clerk. During Bundy’s early childhood, he and his mother resided with his psychologically challenged grandfather in Philadelphia. He was raised initially by his grandparents. Teddy, as he was known, believed that his grandparents were his parents, and that his mother was his elder sister. When his mother married Johnnie Bundy in 1951, her son took his stepfather’s name, and was known thereafter as Ted Bundy. On 4 January 1974, Joni Lenz became one of the few women to survive Bundy’s brutal attacks, but her vicious rape, with a bedpost, caused her massive permanent damage. 21-year-old Lynda Ann Healy, a slender, pretty, long haired law student, was not as fortunate, and her disappearance on 31 January 1974 did not initially alarm the police. Bundy moved on to Utah, taking another four victims during October and November, one of whom turned out to be the daughter of the local police chief, and no effort was spared to track down the killer. Bundy went on trial in Utah on 23 February 1976, for the aggravated kidnapping of Daronch. Ted confessed to over 30 murders, but the actual number remains a mystery. It is estimated that the number of people could be from 26 up to 100. His reign of terror lasted from 1973 to 1978.…

The first official killing happened to a 18 year college student Cherri Jo Bates who was in the Riverside College library near Riverside, California. When she was done it was about midnight and she was walking back to her car and a strange man drove up next to her and got into her car with her and started stabbing her repeatedly. She fought back and managed to scratch and claw to fight back but could not over power him. He sent a letter to the Riverside press and said "Bates had to die there will be more". two years later The Zodiac came back on the 4th of July and stalked Darlene Ferrin and Mike Mageau up to "lovers lane" in Vallejo county, he pulled up behind them and shined a flashlight in their eyes making it hard for them to see his face. He then walked back to his car and drove off down the road but then he turned around half way and came driving back. He got out and pulled out his 9mm and began firing in the car killing Ferrin and fatally injuring Mageau. He then drove off and the police arrived. He calls the police saying he murdered two kids in lover’s lane and then hung up. He sends a letter to the chronicle saying he had evidence only him and the police knew and gives them a code to crack saying that if they crack it it'll reveal his name and identity.…
Many murders are left as a mystery. One of the famous unsolved murder cases was the Zodiac Killer. In the San Francisco Bay area at least five murders were made between 1968 and 1969. The killer usually sent letters to the San Francisco Editor, San Francisco Chronicle and and many other companies. If his letters weren't published on the front, the killer threatened them with attacks. The killer struck a…
The Zodiac was very real villain, and no this villain does not have a giant evil lair or an army of henchmen. What he does have is a psychopathic and insane mind filled with twisted ideas as well as a bit of genius. This villain is the Zodiac Killer one of Americas most infamous serial killers. The Zodiac was active between the 1960's and 1970's, in this time he took 37 victims in total but the the police only counted seven as definite victims. The Zodiac is like a typical cliche horror movie villain but before the cliche, this mysterious criminal was clever and quick. For years he taunted the police and media, what set him apart from the average day to day serial master mind were his letters. He sent a total of eighteen letters throughout his career if you can call it that, to newspapers mostly though some to private citizens. His letters and cryptic messages would always begin with 'Dear Editor this is the Zodiac speaking.' He would demand for the letters to be published threatening to go on murderous rampages if they weren't.…
I. Theodore “Ted” Bundy’s childhood was extremely complicated. He was born in a home for unwed mothers to Louise Cowell. He grew up believing that his grandparents were in fact his parents and his mother was his sister. Studies on Ted Bundy tried to explain why he was mentally incompetent. His grandfather was “an extremely violent and frightening individual”. Throughout his younger years his grandmother was hospitalized several times for psychotic episodes. It is rumored that his grandfather Sam Cowell was indeed Bundy’s biological father. Ann Rule, author of The Stranger Beside Me, stated that Bundy found out the truth about his parentage in 1969. He found a copy of his birth certificate that proved that Louise Cowell was actually his mother. When Bundy was a teenager, he was shy and scared in social situations, he preferred to be alone. He had an obsession with pornography and later turned to watching women through windows. He became bored with this and began torturing, raping, and murdering women. All this was brought about in his last interview by James Dobson, Fatal Addiction. During the interview, Bundy spoke about why he did what he was being accused for. (Bundy) “In conjunction with my exposure to pornography, alcohol reduced my inhibitions and pornography eroded them…
