Issues with in American police.

When I first began researching the topic of these issues with in our police force, it really got my mind pondering different things. How do we survive in a world where there is so many issues taking place day after day? Many Americans believe out police system is completely corrupt. The top police based issues concerning Americans today are such things as Police organization and management of police, Socialization into the policing culture, styles of policing, police use of technology, use of force, and police dangers and stress. Each of these seem to be concerning Americans; Why you may ask?

I believe more citizens should be intertwined in some way to the criminal justice system. Americans should always remember that a police officer of the law is taking orders from his superiors. If there is a certain crime going on that police are not involved in, it’s typically because the officer’s superior has drawn the officers’ attention elsewhere. Our police management system is based off of a delegation of authority system. One power is supposed to pass on power to a few others, who pass on powers to a few others, etc; Like a very large pyramid. Delegations usually only work efficiently in smaller based departments, maybe this is why our police management is not under …show more content…
This is the amount of money spent on police misconduct from the year 2010. Should America honestly be paying 350 million dollars a year due to police misconduct? Must I remind you the amount of debt America is in already? These numbers are all staggering, and every single one of these numbers could and should be below 20% of what they are now. America’s police force needs to get their job straight, knowing their specific duties and how to carry out their duties in a civil and correct manner.

Time to quit picking apart our police force, as we know, no one is perfect (including our police.) Police also take quite the risk being an officer of the law, definitely more than you and I endure on a daily basis. Many officers meet their death in their own line of work.

    The United States government and the police must have a relationship because the laws and how the American criminal justice system is set up and ran. The rights of the people are established by the government and in most cases have to be carried out and enforced by local police. The local police vary from size throughout the United States. As the government set out to make new laws, it is the police who have to make sure that laws are being followed. The police also have a professional obligation to the public and the first component of the Criminal Justice system is the police, and different levels of policing focus on different levels of crime. The United States government has policing on the federal, state, and local level. A local law enforcement agency can run from a huge local police department to a small local police department depending on the number of people living in the community or jurisdiction of that police department. Next, would be policing on the state level, this would be your state troopers. The state police are mostly seen on the highways, but they have other duties that go beyond jus t regulating our highway. Last would be federal police agencies, federal agencies have the responsibility to enforce the laws that are only on the federal level, but unlike state and local police, federal agencies have nationwide jurisdiction. Overall the Government makes the laws for these different police agencies to enforce, the relationship between the government and police seems to be an up and down situation. The police system is not perfect and at times those imperfections in the system show because of this it makes it hard for policing around the United States.
